It's a little surprising how much hate Andre Ward gets here.

This is complete bull****.

 

The Klitscko's are far and away the most hated fighters on this website. Andre Ward doesn't get 1% of the **** they get.

 

There's a good portion of Slappy Joe fans who hate on him too. They are probably insecure.

There are exceptions, I've seen both Bute (Mgk) and Slappy (KO artist) fans give Ward some props, but in general those are the haters.

 

This the real reason

 

hes mixed race for gods sake. his dad is white, and his mother is black. how is that so hard to understand for some people?

more to the point, who gives a damn? hes a seemingly decent guy and has huge talent. enough said.

 

For Ward's fans, any critic on Ward is perceived as hate. When Ward talks ****, like he did some times in the last months, I consider normal to say it as it is. That is not hate.

If he never faces Bute, I'll hate him for that.

 

I guess Ward has fans only because of his colour. I don't know if he would be proud of that.

 

I'll put my hands up here.I was bang out of order about Ward.I thought he was overrated,I thought his moniker suggested pretentiousness and I just had a general antipathy towards him.
But I was dead wrong.He's a very humble guy,has magnificent ability(I always knew he was good,just not THAT good) and what surprised me the most was the strength and unwillingness to be bullied on display against Carl Froch.
Sometimes you just have to admit you were wrong:gsg:blackeye.He's a superb talent.

the only think i hate about Ward , is the way he became after he won the S6 , he try to act like PBF and it doesn't fit him well

I think it should be acceptable to critizise a high profile fighter for how he manages his career. I dont agree it's racism and I dont agree it's hating. Why should Ward be treated special when it goes for no other well known fighter? Compare whats beeing said about him and whats beeing said about Roy Jones or the Klitschkos.

I think most people that likes to bash him does it as part of the bickering between European and American fans.
