You can stop kicking any time now.

The commission has now officially confirmed that a foreign substance was indeed found. It is being analysed but regardless of what it turns out to be, it had no place in his wraps. Tape and gauze only - applied properly. Period.

I honestly wouldn't have imagined that Margarito would do that willingly (not that I know him or anything). Now his whole career is messed up.

Well Cintron's camp has asked to be kept in the loop as to what's going on with Margo, you can bet that he and Cotto are gonna fight hard to those losses amended to No Contest, Margo is done.

Fine. He should be suspended. But I think it makes a little difference WHAT that substance actually is. You have people around here suggesting he had "bricks" in his gloves and other nonsense. This has not yet been proven, and won't be until the chemical analysis is in. That's why the suspension is a temporary one at this point.

But even if it IS proven with regard to the Mosley fight, this will NOT constitute proof that he had ANYTHING in his gloves in ANY other fight.

WIthout any proof that he had anything in his gloves in those fights, that is almost certain not to happen. And furthermore, it would be a monumental injustice if it did.

We will see, like I said Cotto was held in a much higher regard the time he fought Margarito. If Tony was trying to gain an edge in the Sugar fight then there is a good chance that Cotto was getting hit with loaded wraps.

Something was in those gloves that shouldn't have been and he will be suspended.

You give scumbags the benefit of the doubt all too often Zak. :-(

You have got to be kidding me. So there is no difference between a concrete like substance and too much wrap on the hands? That constitutes a rules violation as well.

Ok, but His trainer already admitted that what ever the commission took was hard. He said it was two week old gauze that was prepared. He said it was hard from humidity. Well if he knew it was hard why did he go and put it in the wraps?

Sadly for men like Cotto and Cintron (x2) there is no way to go back and make that determination. But you can bet your bottom dollar that the court of boxing's public opinion will cast a damn long shadow on those wins - IMO especially the Cotto one. MC looked like someone had taken a baseball bat to his face, and that analogy may not be that far off the mark given what we now know.

And you're wrong. It matters not a damn what was in those wraps. Whether it was fairy dust or plaster dust, it had ZERO legal place there, ever. Now please stop further gutting yourself of credibility by condoning this very serious matter. Nazim Richardson's discovery BEFORE the fight started may well be the only thing standing between Margarito and criminal assault charges. When you consider that the sport in question is boxing, that's a pretty damn powerful statement. :deal

A very fair question. The treater's remarks can already be taken as him knowing he was cheating.

Luis Resto and Panama Lewis got two years in jail, too. I think jail time is in order for Margo and his trainer, if convicted. They could have killed or seriously injured somebody. He actually did seriously injure Cotto.

WTF?What does the Cotto fight have to do with the Mosely fight?A supervisor for the Vegas commission signed Margo's wraps, hence no harm,no foul.To suggest otherwise is ridiculous,or are you one of those who believe there is a commie behind every tree?
