Groves and Haye aren't just fighters to Booth, they' are his FRIENDS.

Booth only has his fighters interests at heart and rightly so.

He has always maintained that he wants his fighters/friends to achieve their goals, making the most money possible while keeping their faculties intact. Hence, they agree Haye would retire before his 31st birthday.

Any friend would want the same.

    This thread is ridiculous.

this post may even beat your 1st for levels of stupidity and makes you out to have very little knowledge of boxing, If you want a brawl you could have gone to any city center last night and watched it for free.

Troll thread .. so you are criticising the guy for changing game plans to suit the opponent? Or are you suggesting both Haye & Groves always fight on the back foot.

If you can think of a more aggressive gameplan that would have allowed Groves to beat DeGale then please tell us :good

Booth is an underrated trainer. Boxing is about tactics baby, not going in there looking for the KO every fight. You sir, need to study the 'sweet science' a little bit more. Bernard Hopkins is a good start for you.

Funny you see these kinds of posts on a boxing forum. These guys don't have a ****ing clue about boxing, with their moronic, ignorant, comments. I bet these kids act like they know 'boxing', what a ****ing pillock.

All the bull**** in the lead up about Degale sparking Groves out. He is a cocky **** who thought all he had to do was turn up and he would of won the fight. I got Groves to win last night in the bookies at 11/4 so I was delighted with last night.

As for Booth and his tatics last night they were spot on. If I was boxing out of the British trainers out there Booth would be the man I would want in my corner.

Yes mate, you're right, rather than send his fighters out with a gameplan that very much heightens their chance at victory, what Booth should do is tell them to make it an all-out blood and guts war because some twat on the Internet felt his "spectacle" would be ruined if one fighter fought a defensive minded fight.

So does this mean you've been telling the likes of, say, Bernard Hopkins to "**** off" for years because he doesn't fight like he wants to be Benn or Eubank? Maybe you begrudge Ivan Calderon his success of ruling over the lighter weight classes for years because, rather get embroiled in a brawl and get stopped, he did what worked for him, and outboxed his opponents. Not that I would ever compare Groves to those two, but it seems that your outlook on the sport is quite a superficial one.

Boxers fight to win, setting his fighters out to win is his job as a trainer.

Whether it entertains or not is irrelevant.

You dont win belts or build a legacy by being entertaining alone, you do it by winning and hopefully entertaining at the same time in some of your fights.
