Yeah Mayweather's biggest asset imo, is his legs, where as Whitaker's, was his mid range game. Whitaker was miles better in the pocket than Mayweather, and a better inside fighter, better body puncher, particularly early in his career, he also had more balls than Mayweather, he would try and close the show when he got a fighter under.

Whitaker was generally more aggressive than Mayweather on a whole.

Whoever thinks Groves won must also admit Dirrell beat Froch if that is how they score fights.

At the end of the day we are talking about PROFESSIONAL boxing and the more these guys win, the more money they make.

They are there to win fights first and foremost.

I thought Dirrell beat Froch but thought Degale won on Saturday simply because in most rounds he landed the better punches. One of the tenets of socring a fight is "clean, effective punching" and I saw little of that from Groves.

Leonard won that, quite easily, and the only reason there is any debate is that mad card of 118-110 :patsch 3-4 rounds? Yes. 8? No ****ing way...

its about time people realised that degale should have had a point docked for chucking his elbows and shoulders around. question is, had the difference been 2 rounds on the scorecards, would people be making this big a deal?

I agree. Whilst I would say that Groves had a better plan, and stuck with it, his actual punching wasn't that great.

I was under the impression that Groves was supposed to be a decent puncher, but he didn't seem to make any impression at all on De Gale...

What a load of shite. Valuev is not even close to being as good as Haye he was just so much bigger that it was difficult and then Haye broke his ****ing hand in the third round. That is a proven fact. With no broken hand, sure he would have looked to stay on the outside but you can be sure he would have thrown more and looked to hurt him more.

And how was that the only big fight? He went to Paris to fight Mormeck for the WBC and Ring belts unless you forgot.

    this thread is well worth a B U M P wouldntcha say??

Haye's toe excuse might have been plausible had Booth not put his fighters out on their bikes for his last 3 or 4 big title fights :hi:
