Pulev lost yesterday and when you lose a fight that means you lose peoples faith in you. that also means you get ranked lower.

Pulev was an outstanding amateur and he's been avoided like the plague by top fighters since turning pro.

Whilst he isn't beautiful to watch he is effective size, strength and fundamentally very good.

He would be a top 5/10 fighter in the previous era too.

 

Fury pulled out of his IBF eliminator rather than fight Pulev, that is a duck my friend.

Fury's career is a shambles.

His best win to date is over a gatekeeper in Chisora, he talks but never backs it up.

Amateur pedigree only carries a Boxer's reputation so far, in the professional ranks.

His professional record is not exactly laden with stellar exhibits and certainly not enough for him to be considered a "top class operator", which was the description of him I disagreed with.

Whether or not he has been avoided by others is not relative to his demonstrable boxing skills, which have looked to be in short supply, from what I have seen. On the same basis, I would give him very little, if any, chance of being considered a legitimate top-ten Heavyweight, during the 90's.

 

Well if Moorer, Botha, Akinwande, Bean and Hide could all be in top 10 and a form of champion I'm sure to say so could Pulev.

But we need to see how he comes back and what he goes on to achieve.
