it's amazing what a loss can do, even a close one

like khan's..."his dad wants him to leave roach"..."khan is feather-fisted"..."roach is overrated"..."khan is a complete fraud"...we're hearing it all today....it's almost comical.

    thats all.

"Naz lost to the first world class fighter he faced in Barrera"

It is, boxing is a funny old game.

Even the same fight could have gone differently if held eslewhere: Peterson is down twice, both ruled KOs (unfairly), Khan then does the Calzaghe/Manfredo flurry and the ref steps in to end it all in 1.

Then it's all unstoppable King Khan, Khan blows Mayweather out in 1...

Full credit to Peterson he took Khan's gameplan and threw it out of the window.

Consistent body shots, I was surprised to see Khan take the body shots quite well as I always thought he would not like being hit on the body.

I honestly think the referee was nagging and so fussy that it distracted Khan more than anything. At one point Khan didn't even know what he was doing wrong because all he could hear was the constant babbling from the incompetent referee.

I wish in boxing today far less emphasis was placed on the 0, it's partly responsible for killing the game and also folk judge a fight a bit more on how it went rather than simply pretty much all on the W or L.

Peterson won that fight more than Khan lost it! He fought out of his skin and fair play to him for that

peterson's got tons of heart but khan's lack of accuracy is frightening.

I thought the ref was very good. Khan didn't know what was going on because he wasn't being falsely protected and allowed to use illegal tactics. The ref actually let the fight be fought how a fight should be fought: on the inside, and in and out of the clinch if need be. Far too many refs don't let fighters fight it out or up close, they break them up before they even meet. With Khan's total lack of inside game or ability to tie someone up, Khan was having kittens, looking at the ref pleading him to get Peterson off him, even though Peterson was doing nothing wrong. Khan's only defense was to shove Peterson away, which is illegal and after about the 50th time and a warning, the ref finally did him for it, I see nothing wrong with that.

It was a real life Rocky like performance in a way, the guy could barely see or stand up at the end when the result was announced, he then got jumped on.

Full credit to him, he dug in and dug in deep. He deserved the nod in my opinion. A fair bit of Khan's work wasn't fighting off the back foot, it was down right running. There's a difference. That's not to say Khan didn't put in a hearty performance worthy of credit too, he very much did. Credit to both of them for providing us with a very enjoyable fight.

i didn't expect de la hoya to act classless like this either...look at the start of this video the way he introduces peterson and just shrugs his shoulders introducing him as the new champion...

look i cant stand khan and all his yes men team etc etc , i was so happy that he got beat.

people will dislike a fighter for different reasons , i just cant go how khan thinks hes an amazing fighter , even before prescott battered his ass he was calling out marquez and pacman...this was after a 5 years shot gomen nearly kayoed him and feather fisted limond knocked him down.

he then refused to fight prescott again and then recieved a disgraceful tko ve barrera , he beat kotelink when eh said he was teh worst champ in the game and then began calling out mayweather etc

malignaggi and judah were well past it but maidana is the fight where khan gets the credit , he survived some massive bombs to pull out a points win

thats where last night becomes laughable....maidana and prescott wanted a rematch but amir said no...so how can he ask for a rematch with peterson when he and goldenboy were stupid enough to not have a rematch clause or no options on peterson.????

his comments on pacman the otehr week were also laughable...he got beat , then he never , then he should retire , then he shouldnt

he doesnt think before he speaks.

i dont like him and i hate the way he thinks he s great...his comments about hatton the other day also were laughable.....i will win the superfights that hatton didnt lol

    mayweather and pacman beat hatton
    peterson and prescott beat khan

thats a hell of a difference

all this crying just makes it sweeter to me

Doesn't matter, Peterson has enough class to go around. Good to hear him speak, thoughtfull and gracious - obviously it's easier to be that way when you've won but you can't help but think he'd also be gracious in defeat. No unneccessary bragging etc...

Was it him or his brother who used to make that 'Bap Bap Bap' noise when he punched?
