Povetkin was clean, according to WADA, but the WBC has to protect Wilder because Wilder was going to drop his fake title if the WBC were to enforce their own rules.........now that Povetkin has been cleared where is Wilder? After 4 title voluntary defenses against bums, it's time the WBC took the title away from Wilder and make him fight an actual fighter............and the American media lied about it. Povetkin filed a 34.5 million dollar lawsuit and for good reason...........Povetkin was framed, something is very fishy...........

Areolla has struggled vs some very very very mediocre fighters lately

Breazelle struggled vs some really solid journeyman

AJ wouldve killed the version of areolla wilder fought

Dillon white would beat the hell out him to

Wait tell wilder fights a guy with some height & craft

His technique is still bad & his defence is awkwardly very bad but he is so tall & has good athleticism that its hard to touch his chin

Wilder is a better boxer than some are willing to admit, he is clearly a top 10 heavyweight despite his level of opposition being poor. He's tall, rangy, has a good jab and hits hard. Sure from a technical stand point he makes a lot of mistakes, but just like Fury, despite these flaws, when he decides to box from range he's hard to beat.

I'm not sure if he's getting better, he's pretty much the same fighter that won the title against Stiverne a year and a half ago. All he showed against Arreola is that once again when faced with a known puncher he will box just like he did against Stiverne.

As for what's not to like? Plenty, we wanted him to step up for a long time and when he did against Stiverne he passed with flying colours but instead of remaining there he dropped back down to beat over matched opposition. That combined with a personality that grates is why he has so many critics.

I would never call Arreola skilled, he's always been crude as hell. I don't think Arreola is any better than Breazeale at this point both were lucky against Kassi so to suggest this defence by Wilder was better than AJ's against Breazeale is erroneous.

Im not fan of Wilder and want to see him lose but cant deny that he improved in the past few years since he became WBC champ.

May be he does sparrings in the gym and that improved him,may be even the mediocre opposition he had helped as well, because before he became champ he had even worse opponents.

He isnt as chinny as some want him to be,has power and good speed for his height,rangy...also improved his jab a bit.Throws uppercuts even,i was impressed when he threw some against Duhauspas.Because i have never seen him before use those.

Also his stamina is fine. Can go 12 rounds, and he did once already.

:huh I have to wonder then, why Wilder hauled ass back to the states so quickly the paint peeled off the plane.

"he continues to fight men bigger than him"

Well, i'm glad the Klitschkos are finally getting the recognition they deserve. A lot of their opponents have been "bigger than them"

The fight was called off by the WBC...what did you want him to do?
Stick around Moscow and do some sight seeing for a few weeks?

He should have waited a few hours or a couple days to the WBC to call the fight off.

But he was on his way well before the WBC did it

Also he never even set foot in Russia, he was waiting in Britain :rofl

Lets do a reality check here:

    1. They could have done better than Arreola for Wilder's next opponent. No disputing that. Even as a Wilder fan that was weak and disappointing.

    2. The Povetkin cancellation, while flimsy, was not Wilder's fault. It was the WBC. They should have at least just postponed it rather than cancelling it indefinitely.

    3. Wilder is undoubtedly a top 10 fighter and not the garbage his worst detractors say.

    4. While a top fighter and a champ, he no doubt has a lot to prove.
