Like I said, Margarito really laid a whipping on him despite Pac winning clearly. He hasn't been in any close fights but he's been taking punishment, the guys tiny but getting away with fighting giant welterweights because the welters he's faced weren't true elite fighters and plus weren't counterpunchers. Floyds also well known for staying in shape between fights plus he'll have Ortiz to knock the rust off. But Ortiz should answer most of the questions about Mayweather.
I am not a fan of either guy, but I think their is a big skill level disparity in FMJ's favor. I think Pac will look OK for 2-3 rounds, but once Mayeather figures him out (and he will) and adjusts (and he will) he will pick Pac apart! Mayweather 116-112 in the very closest scenerio I can envision 118-110 is more in line with what I excpect.
You can only judge by their recent performances, anything else is just speculation.... & with that said, Ive seen nothing in the decline of Mayweather in his recent fights vs Marquez & Mosely to suggest that he has slipped enough for Pacquiao to beat him... my stance is the same as it was 2 yrs ago.... Mayweather by clear decision.... he`s just a superior fighter to Pacquiao IMO.
I think Mayweather will have a tough time trying to solve Pacquiao's puzzle. He usually walks southpaws down but he'll have to pressure his way through hell to do that to manny in peak form, and i question his ability to dance for a decision given his inactivity. Like PP said, Ortiz will answer a lot of questions hopefully.
Floyd is used to goin in straight lines to establish space to counter. He won't challenge the angles like jmm did. Its close, but I'd say pacs able to outsides him on foot and land a good amount of sneaky shots.
Manny has been superb, however the Mosely fight was not one of his best, maybe he was feeling charitable on the night. Floyd has the style to take advantage of any similar off night and once on a roll could close the fight out.
I've always favoured Mayweather but the longer it goes on the slower he's gonna be. I'll wait for the Ortiz fight and see how sharp he is there.
