Fighter of the decade either goes to Roy Jones - Hopkins - DLH - Trinidad - or Mayweather ... Pac is nowhere near that status.

Who has he beat the last 10 yrs to grant that?

He hasn't even been on the US scene for 10 yrs ...

It hasn't been 10 yrs since Jones won a HW title ...

It hasn't been 10 yrs since Hopkins racked up 20 + defenses of the recognized MW title ... and how he held every major belt at the same time ...

It hasn't been 10 yrs since Tito Trinidad unified 2 weight classes and attempted a 3 ... all in the span of 2 yrs ...

You're right, that's why he is so good. He only need 9 years to obtain the title. Hop, and Mayweather Jr both have 10 years and they still lost to Pacquiao. LOL i'm just J/K with you.
Ever since Pac became champion in 2001, he has always stepped up in competition. He has had numerous fights where he was supposed to lose. Berrara, Marquez, Morelas, Dela Hoya, Hatton, and so on. He did this while being the smaller man. That my friend is fighter of the decade.

If you dont mind me getting technical.... Mayweather is the better fighter but Pacquiao has better achievements which might translate into greater fighter.

Pac, Morales & MAB all rank higher than Trinidad & DLH in my book.

Mayweather's skill and sharp thinking will carry him 5 or so plus years from now ... with Pac once his physicality declines so will his ability to win big fights.

Thats the major difference between Hopkins and Jones ...

Jones is a great fighter and maybe the more talented or physically gifted but once all that started to fade so did his ability to win the big fights. He's been knocked out 2wice and hasn't shown glimpses of his former self in over 7 yrs.

While Hopkins on the other hand may lose but still was in good standing to where he didn't take much punishment and he made his opponent look amateurish in the fight. His defense and sharp thinking has carried him up into his 40's.]

That will be the same scenario for Pac and Floyd except in this era Floyd doesn't have much of a realistic chance of losing.

they should have waited until December because if PBF beats JMM & Pacquiao then he is the fighter of the decade.

How could it be Manny if he loses to Mayweather? :huh

They jumped the gun on this.

It's to promote a future fight between the two, they usually do these things and I'm sure they can easily change it if Mayweather beats both Marquez and Pacquiao.

That's very true, as far as technical skills goes Floyd and Marquez are way ahead of Pac. Those guys are two of the best technical fighters that this decade has produce. As far as achievement goes, Pac is a step up. There's no doubt Mayweather Jr. is the best fighter this decade, he just doesn't have the achievement to go with it. There for that's why he is not the overall fighter of the decade.

    Thats a joke

You're the only person that would say something as ridiculous as that ... i'm not even that big of a fan of DLH but he's one of the most accomplished fighters ever ... unifying titles fight the divisions best ... you can't name a fighter that wasn't top 5 in his division at the time they fought DLH.

The thing is that Pac was supposed to lose his last few fights already.

Fighter of the decade is about achievement. Floyd can beat both Marquez and Pac on the same night now and he still won't win fighter of the decade. It's too late right now. Those guys will do nothing to his legacy, they're too small to pad his records now. He needs big fight at 147 and 154.

Mayweather needs to fight the best at his weight limit to be the best.

PAC fought 6 times against LOCKED HALL OF FAMERS.

Mayweather has only fought 1 Hall of Famer. De La Hoya.

And PAC fought him and destroyed him while Mayweather took him to a split decision.

Scar, I was being sarcastic with the first sentence. The rest of the post explains it. That is what I was eluding to that PBF belongs at 140.
