Think of the possible doors it would open up for potential mega-matches with Marquez , Floyd, Mosley, etc. If Ricky wins, you know we're back at square one, and another Hatton/Floyd fight.

Why would Pacquiao winning 'open up doors' to fights with Marquez or Mosley, but Hatton winning wouldn't open exactly the same doors?

It's better for ESB is Manny loses. We'd never have to deal with Harrison or Enzo again.

Of course it's better for the sport for Manny to win. Boxing needs Floyd vs Manny. It's the fight of the decade. Would you rather see Floyd vs Hatton 2? :verysad

Whoever wins is good for boxing, just like Pac can fight Mosley/Marquez/Floyd Hatton can as well. A rematch between the two is also very possible depending on how good the fight is.

If Hatton beats Pac then I'm sure many would like to see a Mayweather rematch and at 140 or catchweight 144. All the talks about Hatton's weight being an issue will rise and overshadow their first meeting.

It's better for the sport if it's an awesome fight worthy of a rematch actually.

    fight wise it is.

But did you see the amount of fans hatton brought over? the atmosphere etc all made boxing look great. Im sure the casinos bosses would like hatton to win

Hatton has himself admitted to being less than his best at 147lbs, so it rules out a lot of potentially huge matches. Pac, on the other hand, may very well prove to be effective at that weight, even though he's naturally smaller than ricky (not by much, I might add, as far as bone structure and height is concerned). Also, Manny is the p4p #1 guy. Ricky, for all his delusions is not taking that crown, even with a victory.

It just means more MEGA-matches can be made with Manny right now, right or wrong.

Why does everyone think boxing is dead. If it were so dead, why are we here. True it may not be as big as it was before, but that's only in the states. Boxing is a world wide sport. Not just an American thing. No matter who wins, trust me at the end of their career there will still be a thousand fighters out there that either man didn't fight thats how we are. Pacquio can't be 532-3-2 and Hatton can't be 537-1. So let's just enjoy these fighters for their entertainment while it lasts and keep our eyes on the incoming prospects. This sport is a revolving door.

For boxing, it's better if Pacquiao wins. It would be a historical win.

It's only better for Mayweather and JMM, and english fans, if Hatton wins.

Absolutely. Mayweather has Hatton's number no matter the weight, no matter the referee. People who think otherwise, to my mind, are delusional. Pacquiao is a much more naturally talented, explosive fighter. I'm not saying I would necessarily pick him over Mayweather, but that match is much more historically important than Mayweather/Hatton 2 by a mile.

Manny won't get the credit that he deserve again for this fight if he doesn't take his foot off the pedal. (which I don't expect him to anyway)

He won his last 5 out of his 6 fights very convincingly and look what some are saying about it.

Floyd v Manny at 147 ? Manny would be in deep water. If Hatton beats Manny he deserves another crack at Floyd.I said all along that Hatton fighting Floyd at 147 was a big mistake,if the fight could be made at catch weight or maybe even 140 im sure it would be far more entertaining than the first fight.Ricky was fighting at the wrong weight, with the wrong attitude, and with the wrong ref in the ring first time around,im not saying he'd beat Floyd, but at 140/144 the odds would be more even.
