Does your logic hold the same regarding the Cotto Pacquiao fight?

Great Post, this is especially true with more naturally leaner fighters like Dawson

Nobody put a gun to his head. He could have said fight at 175 or nothing. He made a choice.

Chad Dawson was #1 in the WORLD at 175. so he loses 7 pounds and he "suddenly" turns into a guy thats worse than Brian MaGee in boxing ability?
Amazing we have so many people that need excuse for everything that happens in life. The best 175 pound guy in the world got his ass kicked by the best 168 pound guy in the world. end of thread.

good thread and you're right. I've tried training while drained or a lack of food from dieting and I was no where near as bad as Chad probably was.

you mean the guy that was still in the division 2 years later and won a title. You're a good poster most the time until you mention Pac or Floyd :pat

That guy is the same guy that failed to make weight by two pounds and had to go to the sauna to drain those two pounds off, if thats not a weight drained fighter then i dont who is.

Looking at the way Dawson preformed. Which was acatuly pretty good despite only winning 2 rounds and being completly out classed from the 6th round on. I don't think the weight made a diffrance in the end result.

No it doesnt and here is the reason why, Cotto and Manny fought in the same division against each other, Cotto came down 2 pounds to face Pacquiao in the very division that Both were currently fighting at.

While Dawson requested a 170 catch weight was denied and had to come down not just from 175, biggest misconception!!! Dawson comes down to make 175, for the Ward fight he had to come down an additional 7 pounds an entire weight class, so did Cotto have to go through the same?:think So then why you acting like a little ***** about it? Cotto only took off two pounds while Dawson moved down an entire division.:deal

So I guess Ward should have moved up to 175 so HE would have the built in excuse in case he lost?

Dawson was a zombie last night. Look at him at 175, he doesn't have excessive body mass, he obviously has to cut weight to make 175. And then he's cutting another 7 pounds off? He was an idiot for taking this fight at 168.
