We are not all city fans who support hatton. I mean vegas there were many people were hammers shirts, arsenal, chelsea and even united. So you are wrong there.

of coarse there is a high risk but the reward is small, and why does Ricky owe us this fight? I much prefer to see him fighting big names like Mayweather, Tszyu and Castillo. If Ricky can end his career beating more established fighters than Witter then good luck to him, however if he was to take on the likes of gavin rees and ignore Witter, then I would agree with the OP.

Agree totally but scurluntings as always had it on for hatton I mean he could fight Ghengis Khan and still be accused of ducking witter.

I think ghengis would be the easier fight, I'm pretty sure he was never classically trained as a pugilist. :good

WTF is your problem I am not making excuses for Hatton fighting Witter imo there facts. The one thing I will give you is this fight should happen and as I have already said I am sure it will. We will have to agree to disagree your entitled to your opion thats fine but why not just admit the hate and move on.

Definitely man, but I just don't understand with hatton so confident that witter isn't on his level why he wont get in the ring and beat him down.

personally i'm not sure of the outcome of the fight, i think both fighters would have a very fair chance at a win. But the risk of losing to witter after so blatently and publicly knocking him is too much of a risk i guess.

Theres no point even arguing about it. Hatton fans will claim Witter hasn't earned the right to face Hatton, but if he did he would get beat. Witter fans will claim he is avoiding him and he deserves a shot. However, I do agree that the number one contender should have the right to call out the champ and not be denied an opportunity to face him, because said champion doesn't want to give him a payday. More so, when the champ used exactly this ploy to earn a huge purse against the P4P king.

Ricky decided a long time ago that, for whatever reason, Witter is not someone he would like to face in the ring. We can speculate as to the reasoning behind this decision till the cows home, fact is this fight will NOT happen any time soon.

I only wish that Witter was a bit more proactive, so as to push the bout closer to reality. If he could fight another titlist and attempt to unify he could maybe force Hattons hand. I suspect though, that Ricky is now on his 'retirement run' and wants to take low risk-high reward fights.

I dont understand why Hatton doesnt wanna fight Witter. His excuses are lame. Witter is the WBC champion and it would be massive event in Britain.

Very true, I would love hatton fight that gobby yorkshire twat and knock him out just to prove to hatton haters that hatton is a good fighter. Witter had the chance to impress against mora and blue it.

Personally I'm not making that assumption at all.

But I have one important question - IF(KEYWORD BEING ****IF***) Witter managed to decisively beat Hatton, what would the impact on his fanbase and legacy be? Would it be a non-factor loss, or is there a possibility that perception could drastically change because of him taking witter so unbelievably lightly?

I don't think he'll take witter lightly because he knows that if he does he will get beat. I have never said witter was a shite fighter all I have said he fights like he did against mora and chop chop he'll be in for a rude awakening. Also the haters on here just because hatton got comprehensively beaten on the best fighter in the world that witter would do the same which is utter bollocks.
