Calling him a quitter...a ***** , a sissy , saying that he has no heart...It's very easy to judge someone when you're comfortably seating behind your computer and not eating jabs & hooks from a 6'7 pro top hw boxer...

Easy and fun to judge and **** on someone who can only partially see punches coming (have you see the guy's face for **** sake ? too much swelling around the eyes)...

    [yt]tQGgFinZATw[/yt]

"not the heart of a champion" is a bull**** arguement...When your vision is on the line , you accept defeat. And that's what he did. To be honest , as soon as i was watching the very first round...it already was an indication that he was ****ed. What could've saved him was a massive bomb to vitali's chin (then again , vitali's chin can handle a lot , unlike his brother )

Have you ever seen Sam Peter quitting before ? I haven't...

And he went the distance against Wlad Klitschko didn't he ?

He didn't against Vitali...big ****ing deal...can you blame him ? Remember when Brewster was forced to quit vs Wlad Klitchko ?

Do you honestly think that Brewster is a ***** for quitting ? The guy has one of the biggest heart in the HW division...and not just in the hw division , but any divisions...And yet , he was also forced to quit...

It never happened to him before...

I'd see a valid point if Sam Peter had 2 or 3 RTD on his record...but he doesn't.

I wouldn't quite say Peter was a quitter, however, he seemed very afraid to go after Vitali early in the fight, which is what everyone wanted to see. By 3 or 4 rounds in, he was too hurt and scared to do much damage. If you want to be the champion, you have to go after Vitali as Sanders did, which made for a great fight. This was boring because Peter didn't attack. So one-sided.

Peter did the right thing, he just wasn't in the fight and tried all the way to the 8th meaning if he doesn't do something till then he won't even have a chance on the cards. He gave it everything he had and would rather live to fight another day. Idiots calling fighters quitters are all over anyway, nothing new.

He already tried to get inside and risked getting hit many times trying to do so, Vitali just backs off and nails him with more and more or just makes him miss. He tried everything he could and even left his self totally open at some point to land anything meaningful. Vitali was just too prepared and Peter had no plan B, he just kept doing the same thing over and over. His camp know how Vitali fights and should be prepared for it, Vitali didn't really show anything new there and I don't understand what the hell Peter was doing trying to outbox Vitali from the outside where it's 100% advantage to Vitali.

Respect for Peter and hope this brutal beating won't end his career. I'm concerned for his health. Quitting without being seriously hurt means his fighting spirit was broken. His face was bloody and puffed up. That was a huge loss...

IMO the mocking is on because all the sh*t Peter said, his fans said and of course now the HOF OWNAGE of calling the new champ Quitschko...

i dont think he was afraid he knew what to do...boxers dont mind getting hit in the face it's only when it racks points against you that it starts to hurt.

peter didnt land a right hand all night it was possibly the flattest performance i have EVER seen by any fighter. he looked to be there for a sparring match..vitali wasnt doing anything spectaular which makes this whole thing so alarming he just stayed away with a light jab and peter was done.

going foreward and getting smacked in the face isnt a plan. it was pure plodding with a double jab to the body that wasnt effective and every time he did so he just left his head open to vit.
if any fighter with a decent enough jab was in there they would be the new wbc champ

this whole fight is a case of how peter didnt have a plan and how badly he was last night than how good vitali was

Peter knew tat the first time he fought a good opponent he would lose, shame he embarrassed himself so much in the way he lost.

I agree Boxingcar, I don't consider Peter a quitter. I just think Peter was incredibly discouraged from round 1, he just simply couldn't get anything going. He couldn't overcome the sheer height disadvantage, he was frustrated. No shame in losing, he lost to the better man, VK has, and will, do that to many more fighters, depending how long he chooses to go on for. Watch him loose his next fight now ....LOL.....

He tryed but he couldn't.What point in getting beat up 12 rounds, plus he didn't want to ruin Vitali's KO ratio

what makes me annoyed is that peter could of at leas tprooved somthing...he had 4 rounds to go against a big puncher...that would at least be an achievement. he was the champ for **** sake.

OK, I see your point, but.....

Sam Peter is one of the most annoying egocentric trash talkers in boxing. You mention Lamon Brewster who was always a class act, respectful of his opponents. Peter can't even admit he lost to Wlad and thought of himself as something he never was. That coupled with his unprofessional weight - gaining, which shows disrespect to the sport and arrogance (thinking he can get away with it) makes him an easy target for criticism if he quits on his stool.

No need to belittle him as a human being, but his self - image of a menacing fighter and ruler of the division deserves all the ridicule I can muster.

Only once did he say he thought he did good enough in the Wladimir fight and admitted he doesn't watch his fights, later when he was asked about it he admitted he lost the fight. Peter was never known as a trash talker anyway, showed full respect to Wladimir before his fight with Vitali and after it. The only time people spoke of him as a trash talker was before this fight and he was obviously trying to gain some much needed attention from it as all the attention was on Vitali with him being completely called off at some points. He's a respectful guy and a part of his trash talk to Wladimir was to set up a possible rematch in the future to hype it up and make more money for both, nothing wrong with that as it's how things work in the sport if you want to gain people's attention.
