It's easy to say American heavyweights aren't that good...

America has no really good fighters at heavy at the moment, lots of Americans are doing just fine in other weights though. The thing with the heavyweights was bound to happen.America ran off a production line of good heavyweight fighters for the best part of a centuary, its gone a little quiet but i bet in 10 years from now things will have turned. The fact that America knows the euro fighters are in front at the weight is a start.I belive the next fighter that brings some real life to the division will be American, but it will be a while.

the counter arguement is that the eastern hws help the sport grow and expand in the east.for example wlad/povetkin is a nothing fight to the majority of yanks but its a megafight to eastern europeans

Possibly true, but look at all the European talent in the NBA. Sports in general are become more international. Nothing wrong with that at all.

yep you are correct. however our fatties take up darts or just sit in the pub and get pissed. your lads take up professional boxing.

no to be honest im only payin with ya. it seems to be rife at the moment (out of shape heavyweights) look at that mcdermott bloke, arreolla even tua, chambers. the only reason haye and the klits are at the top is because they are bothered to put work in, the others are slobs.

    .... in the US.

In the rest of the world, the fact they're American does nothing for the sports popularity.

Coming out and asking everyone to be mature about things as soon as Europeans take over when yanks have been ridiculing our fighters for generations is a bit presumptuous. We'll give it 100 years then think about it

muhammad ali, jack dempsey, mike tyson, and louis all had spectacular world wide popularity..... They no doubt inspired a great deal of non-American fighters to pick up boxing. Especially Ali and Tyson, they were international phenomenons.

The title is wrong, Eddie Chambers is very good he is just way too small. The more i look at it the more "wrong" it looks. Chambers is a helluva fighter but K2 are just way too big and good at using it with thier other skills.

National origin does matter,if only a little bit.East Africans are the very very best long distance runners on the planet, while african americans and jamicans are the best sprinters on the planet. This much isn't debatable as the olympics have proven this again and again for quite some time. Those are different sports but prove a point. So yes we americans should wave our flag(even though i am not the flag waiving type).Americans are the best boxers historically speaking,we are the best everything,i'm watching the b.e.t. awards right now and D.J. Khaled would say,"WE THE BEST.....WHO...WE...WE THE BEST"

Indeed. But being an American boxing fan, I wouldn't mind just ONE popular, and talented, U.S. HW to spice up interest over here!

Klitschkos are the very best. American fighters need to quit eating so many hamburgers. Wimpy?

Its a mans own choise! Either people are strong enough to just walk by and stick to eating correctly, or they are to weak! You cant really blame it on foodchains, its more likely the lazy ***** mentallity people are raised with today!
If an pro-athlete cant handle his diet, he sure hell cant be the best in his sport either!

have you considered socio economic factors such as communism being a reason why there weren't any skilled euro boxers back then?

through out boxing history, the best boxers are the ones that have come from low economic status. I think that status will forever remain true.
