Please dont just say "Benavidez" or "Andrade".

I cannot see a path for Andrade to win. Benavidez is younger, bigger, slightly longer reach, and is coming off an opponent similar in style. Benavidez starts slow and imposes his size. Andrade will be faster, no doubt, but he doesnt punch to the body much which matters versus Benavidez. Andrade also has a habit of throwing 1 punch at a time often leaving himself wide open as they are hooks/straight lefts.

I got Benavidez winning via stoppage and a COUNTER punch from David being the game changer.

I've been wrong before and am not an expert on either guys careers but this is Andrade 3rd weight class and his power hasnt traveled up. I'd be surprised with a different outcome

Okay, Andrade is 35 years old , is 6"1 with a 73 inch reach and is 32-0 with 19 ko's. His resume is as thin as tissue paper of quality wins and he did start out at 154 lbs. .
Benavidez is 26 years old, 6'2' with a 74 and a half inch reach and is 27-0 with 23 ko's and he has beaten Lemieux ,Plant and Dirrell at 168 pounds. Conclusion: Andrade will go into survival mode early when Benavidez comes at him with a high volume of punches and might make it to the second half of the fight before being stopped around the 8th round. If Benevidez can't get him outta there, it will take off some of his shine as a force at 168. I see no road to victory for Andrade. Then again I've never considered him to be all that much.

Agreed on all counts. Additionally, if Benevidez can't get Andrade out of there, I'll be disappointed in the same way I was when Canelo couldn't get rid of the herbivore, Charlito.

Edit: I want to add that if Andrade fights hard for real and doesn't stink the joint up and is obviously dangerous to Benavidez then my estimation of him will improve and I won't necessarily be disappointed with Benavidez if he doesn't win by stoppage.

If the fight is competitive I think Canelo fights Benavidez next. Canelo from GGG blows Benavidez away but that Canelo no longer exists. Canelo Benavidez would only be close now because of how faded Saul is and nothing to do w Benavidez imho

If Andrade has any chance its actually AFTER Benavidez has some success because he also gets sloppy and opens wide up.

Benavidez will win, only question is whether a KO. I think he's going to get the stoppage in a fairly one-sided fight (maybe 3-4 competitive rounds), but we'll see.

I'm excited for it and will buy it.

Seems most on here (from other threads too) have Benavidez winning. Surprised Andrade is only ~-300

Boo Boo is very talented and he looks huge since bulking up. However, Benavidez is huge for the weight, a LHW boxing at SMW, and Boo Boo has only boxed at 168 once before against a D level, has never fought a single world champion in his entire career albeit to be fair he has been ducked and avoided, and Benavidez is just as talented and when the bigger man has speed and power to accompany their size advantage it's usually a problem, even more so if they have good skills too.

That being said, Benavidez' opposition hasn't exactly been stellar albeit to be fair he's also been ducked and avoided, and Boo Boo is very awkward, skilled and tricky.

For me, Boo Boo was much more impressive down at 154 where he looked more fluid and smooth. He's looked sloppy at the higher weights.

I think Boo Boo will have his moments, he might even be able to outbox Benavidez prior to the later catching up with him at some stage of the second half of the fight and getting him out of there. I think Boo Boo is better than Plant but at 168?

I noticed that, too. I mean it's not implausible that Andrade could fight a spoiler, technical fight and nick a decision, it just seems very unlikely to me.

Benavidez by KO is +140 and is probably how I'll bet.

Controversial, but I don't really care, I'm going to wait up until about 3 for Shohjahon Ergashev vs Subriel Matias (Sounds like a damn Monster Movie!) and then go to bed without seeing the "main".

Are folks excited for this, really? Honestly after Stevenson vs. DLS last weekend I kind of need something VERY GOOD to wash out its bad taste and whet my appetite for the sport as opposed to being put off awhile, maybe the remainder of the year.

Not sure this has VERY GOOD written all over it.

edit: I'm good for the heavyweight show in Riyadh and Kazuto Ioka's traditional NYE bash, actually. Otherwise, meh.

Smart money should be on Benavidez. I've been a fan of boo boo since his 154 days. And have just grown frustrated in him over the years. He's clearly got the talent. But has not always put it together. And unfortunately, has allowed himself to miss some important fights too. This is probably his last big chance, so we'll see what he does with it. But fool me once....fool me twice...

Benavidez by KTFO. He's THE guy at SMW imo and will smoke guys at LHW. Anything but a stoppage on Saturday will be a disappointment.

Benavidez can't smoke the top guys at LHW. Otherwise, he'd be in LHW where the money is better because the worldwide following is greater.

Newsflash: Nobody cares about SMW outside of N. America.

huh? How is LHW a bigger money division, when the top guys are basically unknown eastern euro TV fighters who are inactive? SM has the biggest name in the sport and is currently one of the hottest divisions. Leaving that to chase unknown easter euros would be idiotic. LHW is actually a dead division. Benavidez been inline for the biggest fight in the sport for years, and you want him to dump that and fight for less legacy and money. lol

Nobody cares for LHW anywhere. N. America is sort of a big deal in the sport of boxing in case you didn't know.
