In the Judah fight. :good His error was he didn't work his way in with a real jab. Rather he threw a pawing jab and then attempted the straight right hand while leaving the left hand hanging out. If you inspect the video closely you will also see that he somewhat televised the right hand(slightly I think). I was always on the fence because I heard arguments about his feet being tangled. However the following video makes in clear in the replay that their feet were not tangled at all. The feet argument seemed to occur because their feet were very close when Judah connected with his counter right hook. However the video clearly shows that Judah moved his foot to get out of the way as soon as he connected. The overhead slow motion replay starts at 5:48 of the video. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcIpH_769Rg[/ame] Please note its the overhead replay at 5:48 and not the side view replay at 5:37 I don't think this takes anything away from PBF. ODLH and SSM are both credited with strong chins and they were both dropped before. Floyds knockdown was less devastating than those two. There is no way their gloves(i.e. ODLH and SSM gloves) could have saved them from completely hitting the canvas. Discuss:yep
definitely a KD but do u think it was more to do with his balance rather than being hurt from the punch?
Always knew it was a knockdown. Didn't matter in the end though. Floyd has serious problems with lefties. Corely had him rocked too... this is why I always felt that Pac would cause serious trouble for Floyd.
It was always a KD. But nothing serious as haters make it out to be. He was CAUGHT. Off balance. A clear KD. But what does it matter if it was KD, look at every great fighter, they've all been down at least once or twice in their career.
For the record, I am not hating. If you check my post history you will see that I am a big Floyd fan and one of his supporters.
Yes I think balance had something to do with it. He was leaning/reaching into the punch somewhat when he was caught. Couple that with his lazy jab that was left out and I would credit the knockdown to a couple of technical errors on Floyd's part instead of just simply being off balance. Note: getting caught of balance is still a technical error.
I agree. Clear knockdown. However the fight was nowhere close enough for the kd to matter counted or not. Not like the Hatton/Lazcano affair which was closer and the Hatton kd was overlooked. In this fight it was a clear kd but a flash kd and the two points would have done nothing to help Zab win the fight nor does it say anything about Floyd's chin.
Exactly. The only thing that is gained by pointing out that he was KDed is that Floyd overcame adversity by being KDed.
Yeah, it was a knockdown, but why are we still talking about it? Did it affect the outcome of the fight? No.
if that **** would've been called it would've never changed the momentum of the fight and zab would've probably won.......i hate that the ref never made that call, FLOYDS BEEN ONE LUCKY ***** IN THE BOXING GAME....
In fact, this is an underrated win by floyd. I hate the ******, but he took on and beat down the stretch one of the fastest southpaws in recent history.
