It's funny how everyone wants to hate on Roy Jones now that he's washed up

It seems people have forgot how damn good Jones was, these last 10 fights should not be factored into his legacy at all. In his prime he was a beast he dominated fights against prime hopkins and prime toney ! He pretty much beat a whos who of light heavyweight contenders of the 90's-00's and won titles is 4 different weight classes, I understand people who wanted Jones to get knocked out in his prime because of his cocky antics, but I dont see why people hate on his skill now that he's about 8 years removed from his prime and consider him less of an ATG for whats happening in his recent fights. When it's all said and done Jones Jr. is probably the best fighter of his era.

I love Jones but he needs to retire. I refuse to cheer for him when he clearly is DONE as a fighter.

Time to switch to HBO commentating again.

Jones never beat a lineal, unified, or undisputed champion in his whole career.

Technically he beat Tarver who was unified but I guess the IBF stripped him or he vacated.

I love Jones, but my patience ran out after the 2nd Tarver defeat and the Johnson defeat. Once it was painfully obvious he could no longer compete at world level, he should've gone gracefully. Now he is making a mockery of himself, he is becoming a joke by refusing to accept reality and ****ing quit with some dignity intact. I love him, but I'm getting more angry and disgusted with his pathetic attempts at a boxing career. Sorry, but ATG fighters should not be accepting being humiliated and toyed with by guys like Calzaghe and Green who couldn't lace his boots when he was prime. Jones should have more pride. ****ing retire for **** sake! And shame on B-Hop for enabling this freakshow.

Who gives a ****, lineal surely doesn't mean you are better... Lineal titles can be just as bogus as a trinket belt.

Roy Jones unified the light heavyweight division, was the ring champion there, won titles in 4 different weight classes, dropped back down to regain the LHW title directly after fighting at Heavyweight, something only true greats have done. Fighter of the decade, and P4P king for the better part of 10 years.

His credentials speak for themselves. Certainly louder than who you think he should of fought.

All of us like roy, that's why we want him out of the sport before he's seriously hurt.

Its just kind of sad people had to wait for him to decline and make posts everyday on his diminished ability and act like he was hiding it all along.

To me it is an insult to the sport of boxing to call him a fraud and joke, given his accomplishments.

The problem is that he was so cocky and arrogant in his prime. And building up to his championship years he fought real contenders. After he became champ he fought a bunch of nobodies. And that was where he went wrong. Not only was he fighting sub-par fighters, but he would mock them during fights. I mean look how he mocked Trinidad. Thats a natural welterweight and Jones is hittin his belly in a "is that all you got" manner. Well duh, he's naturally 20-25 lbs lighter. Thats the beef my man. Unfortunately he did it to himself. Not hating, but its the truth.
