It's funny how everyone wants to hate on Roy Jones now that he's washed up

    Burst my bubble?

Roy won that fight close but clearly.

And how do the second and third fights dictate what happened in the first fight?

You might be one of the people caught up in the drama of Roy looking human for the first time...

I forgot the punch count, but I believe Roy out landed Tarver in power shots, that were mostly to his body, that had Tarver wincing in pain.

Tarver did not do enough to win that fight...

He bragged that his big lips were not even busted, I wonder how his body felt?? He was certainly taking Roy's feints to the body.

People were amazed that Jones had a fight that wasn't a dominance and felt he lost.

It was a close but CLEAR as day win for Jones.

Wonder why fatony won't put up a scorecard.

I dont think anyone hates RJJ. Its simply us long time fans and followers not wanting to see him fighting when he is clearly past his best.

RJJ has a huge ego and is sounding like Holyfield with his delusions. Im a fan of what he was and what he accomplished, but now he is just another aged fighter trying to recapture glory and alienating people in the process. Its hard to take him seriously anymore.

    Dont care enough to?

Yet you're in here debating who won.

Here's a simple question, do you think Roy Jones won the last 2 rounds?

Ruiz went on to beat Rahman, Golota, Quendo, arguably beat Valuev and Chageav.

    This is totally true.

I always took the "whats the excuse tonight roy?" as "excuse for not dominating"

But roy clearly won their first fight.

Exactly, A good heavyweight that was dominated by a fighter that started at JMW.... Saying Ruiz was a nobody opponent for Jones is completely idiotic.

Calling world champions and top contenders nobodies to discredit a fighter is hatred, even though the poster so specifically said he was not a hater.

Jones like other great fighters that fight longer than they are supposed to is just addicted to the sport like the rest were. I think it's safe to say he's not in desperate need of money, just wants to compete and get the feeling he got before which is addictive as many previous fighters confirmed. Even after a first round KO loss you can see that he still insists on going on with the Hopkins fight, the addiction is obvious, desperation for money won't make him look as overexcited as he is for that top spot he used to easily rule. I agree though that the likes of Calzaghe and Green won't even be able to reach to him to secure a fight let alone compete with him in the ring and it was beyond disgusting to see him lose to these guys, especially Calzaghe who openly ducked him when he was in his prime and continued to feast on cans instead. Even the British, and we all know how highly they promote their people and support them, didn't know who the hell he was nor cared.

If it wasn't for Jones I wouldn't have been as interested in this sport as I am now so I owe him that. The man at his best was a beast and his recent showings will never diminish his past accomplishments....ever.

Only newbies and idiots who don't even matter in any discussion would call Jones a joke or a fraud because of recent losses when he's clearly past his best. Those people don't even deserve to be quoted or discussed with, that's not something to discuss, it's ignorance and stupidity at its worst.
