Yep i agree, I wonder is it Nathan's talk of getting out of sport in a few years is Frank trying to milk him for all he can get and maybe him and Clev have agreed not to risk losing to Bellew in a rematch. Even though it would sell maybe Frank wants to push Clev on for fights with Enzo etc.

    Sad stuff really is...

On the Bunce interview last night I got the impression they didn't care about the big fights, Cleverly didn't have that hunger in his eyes or voice when talking about it, just my opinion of course.

Your right Bill even though i haven't seen it, He says before a massive fight 'i want out in few years'. He clearly has eyes elsewhere like many other well educated fighters they see the brighter picture.

Guys like Bellew fight for sport and family's, Clev wants in and out. Cherish Bellew for all you can because that's sorta fighter who will be around wanting to fight the best.

He's 25 years old now, call's himself a World Champion.. he needs to step the opposition up.

He can stick with Frank, get decent pay days and never truly test himself. Or he can step it up against tougher opposition.. if he's as good as he thinks he is, then he'll be successful in these fights, the bigger pay days will come and he'll have a stronger legacy.

Obviously we know what the easier option is..

Spot on, Cleverly has always got that maths degree to fall back on and I think that and the fact he's had it pretty much his own way since turning pro, has robbed him of that fire that somebody like Bellew has.
It will be Cleverlys undoing in the end and why Bellew imo will achieve more in the long run.
The difference between the attitude of the pair is vast.

Cleverly has been a joke for a while. His competition is disgraceful considering he is a world champion. The Bellew fight was fun but Tony should not have been fighting for a world title. Nevertheless, thats probably his best fight and he looked horrible and I scored it a draw.

Cleverly is one of the boxers who has to put his foot down with Frank.

Surely he should learn from Calzaghe's mistakes? Whoever takes the plunge will become the star who fills the void left by Hatton and Haye!

Jin Mosley had more of a fight for her straps than Clev.

    :twisted::twisted: Forget about that.

  15. You do wonder.

I think the Bellew fight was a real eye opener for them (apart from our Vince).

It's not that long ago he was generally regarded as a middling/good domestic prospect at best, he's done better than I reckoned he would, but why not try and maximise it?

Fighting a bum every three months isn't going to set him up for life, surely?

Would be good if he did what Juan Diaz did - go right to the top, lose your biggest fight and then fade a bit, before calling it quits and concentrating on the day job.
