It's going to be hard to keep defending Pac if...

He continues this trend of fighting past-their-prime guys that have recent horrible losses. I don't count DLH against him because he was so small and a huge underdog. I don't count Hatton against him because Hatton's loss was above his best weight class. I don't even count Clottey against him because Clottey's loss wasn't bad and was a good scrap, and it even looked like he could've got Cotto out of there if he'd have just stepped on the gas.
But I do count Margo against him and I will most definitely count it against him if he fights a 40-something Mosley.

I've been a huge Pac fan and I think his accomplishments have been remarkable. But if this is how you're going to go out, just quit now and don't waste our time. It adds nothing to his legacy and it's clear he's just padding his wallet for retirement or maybe a presidential run.

If, however, you want to cement your legacy as one of the debatable GOAT, then fight the champs at your weight division.

I sincerely believe Floyd ducked Manny because he's afraid, and he's fought big names with big purses for little risk, and his fans have praised him far too much for it. Now Manny seems to be embarking on the same path and I won't be one of the hypocrites who will flame Floyd but still praise Manny.

At this point, I think Pac's accomplishments far exceed Floyd's, but that doesn't mean I'm going to keep defending him when he starts acting just like Floyd.

True, but the sad thing is that most of even his "legitimate" options from here are either

1)Past their best it seems- Marquez, Cotto, Mosley, Williams
2)Too green-Berto, Khan, Bradley, Alexander, Ortiz
3)Too big for pac to handle possibly- Martinez, Sturm, Pirog
    4)Floyd Nowheretobefound Mayweather Jr.

Kinda stuck in a bad place right now. The only fights he could honestly take and not receive criticism are Floyd, Marquez, and Martinez. 2 are willing to face him at a workable weight. Hopefully he doesn't subject Marquez to that bull**** though. Martinez might be a little more reasonable.

He'd get no criticism from me at all for fighting anyone in your #2.
And the only people clamoring for him to fight anyone in #3 are people who are just dying to see him lose. It's ridiculous to ask him to step up that far.
But any of the top dogs between 140 and 147, if he beats them, just further cements his legacy as one of the absolute ATGs.

This. I'm really getting tired of his reluctance to finally end his rivalry with Marquez.

    And **** Arum.
