Havent met one person yet that follows and watches boxing on the reg. I know im not alone. I ask last sat my friends were over to name 10 active fighter minus the pbf vs ortiz. I got pac. Hatton( retire). The russian brothers. Mosley. Thats was it. Its so annoying after a while.

Die hard boxing fans are a different kinda breed of man. Once you fall in love with it thats it.

I bet some here have bailed out on plans to watch a fight? Even by yourself. I have. Im not ashamed. My ex gfs got sick of boxing lol.

Its dificult here in north america when the UFC is in every bar live and spike tv shows free live cards and have the ultimate fighter etc..

Mainstream boxing in North america is weak as hell

Die hards will be die hards

Its hard when all your friends say: "there are only two boxing fights a years. (basically whenever Pacquiao and Mayweather fight)

I just started watching in 2008 so I have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to the older fighters but I'm up to date on most fights(except the lighter weights). I won't say I'm an expert but yeah everyday I go to boxing websites and such. There really isn't anyone who follows the sport like I do that I have met.

I hear ya man. I'm in the same boat. I don't know any real boxing fans except other guys at the gym, and I don't hang out with any of them.

    Everyone watches MMA. :patsch

I tried having a poker night anytime there is a decent fight on. Put out some snacks, throw some beer in the fridge, loop 24/7 on the TV until the undercard fights start and break out the poker chips.

    That works sometimes. :thumbsup

As for N. American boxing, I'd love to see the IBF/USBA start an American Championship Tournament on ESPN or free network television. That would be an awesome way to get the sport some exposure.

I know what you mean. Casual Fans only care about megafights, and even then don't really care much.

    It sucks.

    Can't get it here. :(

I feel ya man. I'm used to it though and it doesn't bother me anymore. I know I love it and that's enough for me.

Boxing girl is awesome btw haha. Only girl I've heard of that can equal or exceed my boxing knowledge. Probably the former.
