Instead of Pavlik being able to unify with Abraham next, he has to entertain the rematch clause rights and starch Taylor again and sooner.

...Not that seeing Taylor starched is not fun, but I'm ready for him to just vanish completely, so maybe this will do it.

What I find annoying is that he still has this aura to many that he can be corrected and fulfill the potential that they had for him, even when dealing with that poor of a tactical mindset when it comes to championship level boxing.

They seem to not understand that another KO loss to Pavlik will be a near death blow to his career and standing, and that SMW-LHW are totally out of the question for any success for him. Worst of all, they believe Jermain will win a rematch with Pavlik.

They actually think so. Pavlik is not going to be caught by stupid shots like that again, had he not been, he'd have had Taylor out by 5 and he will do it that quickly this time. I suppose Pavlik dropped his hands because he thought he was dealing with a cream puff, which while not far off, is still not very intelligent to do.

More over, some people still mention Taylor as something significant and an elite resume mark, Taylor is nothing special and he's about to get the final death blow in his career. Live with it Taylor fans, please, no more Taylor.

Taylor is almost done with boxing.

He is just going to cash out and maybe he lands something lucky.

I think he gets stopped around 6 this fight.

I don't like Taylor being called a fraud because he isn't the one doing the judging. He just fights like anyone else and even though the American media believed him to be something more than he was, it's not his fault he couldn't live up to the lofty expectations placed upon him.

Anyways, a KO loss to Pavlik would be a devestating blow to his career. At 168, he wouldn't win a belt. He couldn't beat Calzaghe or Kessler. He wouldn't beat Bute or Mundine. Basically, he would be in a terrible position. And at 175...I don't even have to say it. With another KO loss to Pavlik, it's just about over in my opinion.

    The sooner, the better.

And why can't these Taylor fans/nimrods see that? There is not even a need for a rematch, other than the KD, Taylor was starting to get dominated as the rounds went on do to heat and Taylor's inability to hold championship poise and to fight off the backfoot, not to mention that leaky D.

Nothing will be different, save for Pavlik not getting KD'd and therefore bringing the pressure and workrate in earlier on a falling apart Taylor.

I think that the only reason that these fans are claiming he will win is because Jermain Taylor just brings out this certain ignorance in everyone, he is simply bad, he's an evil force at work.

I like JT, but my main reason for wanting him to win is so we can see a trilogy of a very exciting matchup.

Yeah, the Taylor charade is about over. HBO made their money after getting him those gift decisions, all that's left now is for him to get starched by Pavlik again. I, for one, can't wait!! :happy

Wether you think Taylor lost to Hopkins both times or to Winky, he fought 3 matches against some of boxings best. I think hes great boxer that made a couple mistakes against Pavlik, I told a couple friends that he will try looking for the knockout instead of boxing to a easy decision, he made a huge mistake in doing so.

I am not a huge fan of Taylor, but I think if he sticks to his own plan he will win against Pavlik this time around IMO.

I think JT will have a much better showing the 2nd time around. For some reason he always comes out in fights as if he is on extacy for the first few rounds and wastes all of his stamina in the process. In the hopkins rematch he was more relaxed early and it showed later because he wasn't exhausted by round 12. If he can relax in this rematch he will be able to control more of the tempo with his jab, but if he doesn't do something about his blocking and head movement Pavlik will lay him out again.

    I like Jermain Taylor.

I feel a bit sorry for the guy actually, as somebody else said, he just fights. He doesn't score the fights. He just wants to make enough money to last a lifetime, and who can blame him for that?

I believe what another poster said. He'll come out swinging. If it works, great. If not, he'll ride off into the sunset with his money, a young man still with his health.

What I find interesting is this....

People STILL post about how good Hopkins is. No matter what you think, Taylor was very competitive with him.

So Taylor is comparable to Hopkins.

Then they say, Taylor is ****.

Now, Pavlik beats Taylor (who they say is ****), which makes Pavlik some kind of unstoppable force of nature from 160 - 175. For what, beating a guy (while getting KD on the way) that even you say is ****?????

    Doesn't add up man.

There you go with your bull**** hatred again Ams_t :-(

It's you who is getting to be annoying. :yep

The guy has a boxing career and it is his right to do what ever he feels he needs to do. If he fails then he's gone and maybe for good.

    What's your problem? :D

Damm good post, got me thinking.

I think I have let Amsterdam's* irrational hate for Taylor cloud my better judgement.

We discuss plenty about Pavlik, Hopkins and Wright on this forum also.:yep

...Pavlik is far from anything even resembling a true elite.
