It's mind-blowing how Ruiz took this shot and stayed conscious let alone on his feet (VID)

That left jab to finish off the knockdown at the end of the 3rd is quality.

Re-watched it this afternoon during a quiet period at work. If you haven't seen the Sky broadcast do it, Adam Smith's commentary is something else. You can feel the pain in his voice, I felt sorry for him at times.

Looking back, the right uppercut, left hook combo from Joshua to put Ruiz down is exquisite also. The hand speed and accuracy is absolutely sublime and this is coming from someone who doesn't like or rate him too highly.

Tbf Joshua did everything he could to put Ruiz to sleep there. A hard knockdown followed by a brutal right hand.

Ruiz is just a ****ing unit.

Ruiz himself said Joshua hits VERY hard.

But let's not forget Parker who has eaten a much bigger shot that has put guys to sleep permanently... or at least semi permanently... enough for their trainers to pray to God for a recovery.

He hit Wlad with all those shots later on the fight, after being dropped, gassing out, getting that 2nd wind. Still knocked down a guy that hadn't been knocked down in over 10 years.

Takam- he had a busted nose and once again, those punches were in the 2nd half of the fight.

Parker - he tried to outbox him, not take any chances.

Was Povetkin a British stoppage?! The referee and the corner were fearing for his life when it got stopped. A fighter who has never been stopped by anyone else.

Kevin Johnson has fought them all. He's never been stopped the way he was against Joshua. Dubois and Hrgovic had a go recently, but couldn't stop him. It's not like Johnson was doing anything different against them.

Dropped Charles Martin with two straight crosses, no loading up whatsoever. Kownacki threw the kitchen sink at Martin, couldn't drop him. Kownacki stopped Szpilka in 5 fewer rounds and stopped Washington in 3 fewer rounds than Wilder.
So please cut the crap with all this talk. And I'm getting sick of how everyone going on about Wilder being the most devastating puncher ever. We all know he hits hard, but he also has swing to wildly to generate that power in the first place.

I think this is the only time in a elite level fight where I've seen a jab being the clean knockdown punch. It was quite beautiful tbh.

To be fair Parker was pretty badly concussed after the headbutt which was scored as a knock down in that fight, there are a lot of things which happened after that point which may have been different without that.

The right uppercut threw Ruiz into a left hook he didn't see coming. Great set up from AJ. Amazing that Ruiz looked more put off balance than genuinely hurt by that exchange.

I think Mariusz Wach still has the best chin in boxing!

Ruiz does have a very good chin. I’ve seen him take Big Chris Arreola’s punches when they used to spar at Goossen’s as well as
Darnell Wilson, who can really punch.

Great points and exactly this, you can make points to say his power is overrated and make points to argue the completely opposite depending on how you choose to look at it.

Come on , of course Joshua has power and Ruiz just clearly has a great chin.

After Joshua lands big shots he seems to pause and look at his opponents waiting for them to fall over. He should keep punching instead of admiring his own work. He does this also in round 7 and Ruiz fired back straight away and dropped him.

It's his characteristic response to any time he gets hit. He always pays his debts two times.
