I got mad love for Kovalev and I truly believe that he deserves the hype that his counterparts were getting without the work or the resume.

By "work" I mean Lomachenko getting a title shot for nothing and by "resume" I mean Gennady Golovkin being P4P without beating anyone. Sergey Kovalev has done both and where is his fanfare? In Canada?

He started his career in the United States proving himself. All I hear is about how some people don't like Krusher or GGG. And how people hate them because they are the new faces of boxing well...why are they not selling?
It's not the fault of "certain sections"(as slender4)hatefully put it to prop up or hold back any fighter. If he sells he sells, welcome to capitalism fellas.

Krusher fought in an near empty Mandalay arena, I was there. GGG sold out Madison Square but can't get people to stay home and pay, not my problem. It's a business fellas get over it. It's the job of the networks and promoters to sell these fighters but they must also sell themselves.
So if people hate a fighter then good at least they know who they are and are talking about them. But don't go blaming an entire cultural group for these men's failure to be marketable. :hi:

Mayweather had over 10 title fights before he had his first PPV. He had won bronze at the olympics and he had beaten the likes of: Hernandez, Corralez, Manfredy, Augustus, Castillo and Corley.
PPV stars don´t just happen. They are made after years of contests with top names.

Gennady Golovkin has beaten six top ten contenders: Proksa, Geale, Murray, Macklin, Lemieux and Rubio. In addition he has beaten more crude contenders like: Monroe, Stevens, Adama, Lujan and Rosado.
He has looked exceptional in victories, delivering highlight reel content fight after fight. The only times he did not look great were: Ouma, Rosado and Monroe Jr(Both Ouma and Rosado are porven to be though as railroad spikes).

So don´t give us that: "he hasn´t fought anyone" BS. He goes in there with top competition and delivers excitement, so stfu on that front.

And of course was Kovalev going to massacre Mohammedi in an empty arena. He had only headlined 3 significant shows so far, and they were all in New Jersey!
Why that olld ass Duva with her fart face wanted to set up Kovalev in a new location, is beyond me. They should have continued to build him in New Jersey.
Golovkin fought in the small MSG arena for years before he was popular enough to move to the big time.

And your post is bipolar and sounds racist.
" Not Our Fault...don't go blaming an entire cultural group for these men's failure to be marketable "
wtf are you even talking about?

Kovalev has brought in 1mil + viewers in his last 6 fights with the only exception being the Caparello mismatch, that average around 900k.
Kovalev is one of HBO´s best draws.

Main Events,Krusher's promoters, estimated 300,000 PPV buys -while GYM,Stevenson's promoters, estimated 250,000 buys at best. They are not delusional and they realize neither fighter are PPV stars.
I doubt they would hit the 200,000 mark if sold as a PPV event.

Give it a rest, you don't contribute anything except bringing up Mayweather. You don't like him? Let him be forgotten.

I think Golovkin is more marketable than Kovalev because of his looks. I think they're both awesome fighters but I rank Kovalev over Golovkin. Their popularity, or lack of, has nothing to do with race or nationality IMO. Golovkin is just more marketable based off his face and "good boy" attitude.

    It´s not a PPV fight.
They would need a heck of a card to sell it.

The guy doesn't know **** about boxing. I've never seen him once breakdown a fight or give real ****ysis. He's like the Pac**** version of Farmboxer, both of which need help.

Kovalev should be a star he's a psycho and has the skills to back it up. For whatever reason the casuals haven't bought into him and it's a shame.

It's harder for them to sell in America, boxing is ethnic and nationalistic too, that's what mainly sells.

Boxing is neither popular in Russia nor is there a huge minority contingent of Russians in America, it's similar to Cubans actually but at least these guys are exciting enough to attract some sort of fanbases.

I made this because of what I saw slender4 write. He made a point of all black people hating GGG and Kovalev which is false but he acted like it was all Black peoples fault that they don't sell because of hate.

Bull****, the most hated man, even in retirement, made damn near a billion dollars off of hate. I think people forget that all that white money that GGG and others need is at UFC. Conner McGregor is foreign and has no problem selling a million PPVs in the U.S. post May/Pac. I'm sick of the racial excuses for them not selling.
