yeah but paulie held on for most of the fight, otherwise hatton would have stopped him earlier

 

yes but he is the draw for big bucks,, Bradley, Holt, Torres and witter cant fill a high school gym. Hatton brings them the payday therefore he's #1

 

the record states that cotto won on points and that hatton won by stoppage,not how much damage was inflicted

 

I'm sorry I know everyone has their opinions but if you don't have Hatton as the no1 at 140 then you must be a hater. You might not like him or his style but com'on don't hate.

 

Wasnt Paulie pissing blood for weeks and had a broken cheek bone after his fight with Cotto? He hasnt been the same fighter since.

 

So obviously Hatton's win over Paulie was more convincing, because....

a) Paulie won 4/5 rounds off Cotto, but only one off Hatton.

b) Paulie got stopped by Hatton, but not by Cotto....

c) Paulie stunned Cotto a few times, but barely laid a glove on Hatton

 

He was taking more punishment without giving anything back. He looked and fought like a defeated fighter. He held all night long. He was warned by Buddy to fight or face stoppage, and he still couldn't manage anything.

Cotto might have doled out more physical punishment. But Hatton took the fight out of Paulie. The stoppage was totally justifiable. If you don't want it stopped, DO SOMETHING in the fight.

 

so..that has to go down as a more convincing win regardless of damage

 

Who's got a better resume over the last 3 years at 140?

Answer: nobody.

No, its just that he was never that good in the first place. He was overrated, a weight drained Cotto beat him up and now Hatton has dominated him on the way to a stoppage.
