If Cortez is consistent then he's stop any dirty tactics from either fighter.....but I agree that Cortez needs to stop any illegal moves from Hopkins cos he's renowned for it

Naseem Hamed was treated absolutely shockingly by American refs in the Kelley and Sanchez fights and still won so if he's good enough he'll win....I personally think Calzaghe wont have no problems cos Hopkins will be running not clinching anyway

 

The ref may do his best to sway the fight in BHop's favour, but Joe should be good enough to win anyway.

Worst case scenario we see a repeat of the Holyfield - Lewis 'draw' followed by a rematch where Joe wipes the floor with BHop.

 

as far as calzaghe is concerned this is good news. cortez is up there with most strictest and fussiest refs bhop wont be able get away with any foul play.

From someone who calls himself MasterCalzaghe, you don't seem to know him at all. This sort of stuff only gets him mad - ask Byron Mitchell what happens, when JC gets mad.

 

If you watch the Hatton Tszyu fight Dave Parris was ripping Hatton from clinches and warning him about hitting to the back of the head all the time, no differently from Cortez was warning him in the Mayweather fight......so I feel if Cortez isn't a bad ref at all......he wont have no worries in this fight

He didnt make Taylor or Jones pay did he?? A fighter with any kind of speed and Hopkins is ****ed....and you say makes people pay....how does he make them pay??? with a headbutt or a rabbit punch?? cos he aint knocked out no ****er his own size for years and he aint getting younger!!!
