Floyd Mayweather went on another rant about Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday, this time he didn’t insult the Filipino about cooking cats or dogs, or making sushi, or call him yellow, this time Mayweather attacked Pacquiao’s reputation and integrity. Again.

“When my career is over, anything can happen and my health is more important than anything,” an angry Mayweather shouted to a roomful of journalists in Las Vegas. “I’m not saying nobody is, or nobody is not doing it. But my health is more important than anything. Guess what? When my career is over, if I’m hurt, or something is going on, because something has happened in a fight, I can’t come to you and say, ‘Yo, I need you to pay my rent for this month. I need you to pay my bills for this month. I need you to pay my car note. I need you to put my kids through school.’”

Wait a second. Didn’t Floyd tell us over and over he has so much money that he’s set for life?

“So, my health is more important. So, you’re an American, right? I’m an American. I was in the Olympics. I represented the red, white and blue. You know what the American writers should say? ‘Well, why is this guy from another country coming over here and making money [and] taking it back to his country?’ Once again, I’m feeding American citizens every day. All I ask is, give a little blood, give a little urine. That’s a crime?”

Every boxing fan with half a brain already knows Pacquiao has agreed to any and all random testing. So for Floyd to be crying about testing at this point shows he has reached a point of desperation and irrationality.

A reporter kindly informed Floyd that Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum said his champion had long ago agreed to Mayweather’s insistent testing demands. Mayweather erupted.

“Now you’re listening to a professional liar (Arum). Come on! Come on, man! Come on, man. Arum?! Arum keeps people on his payroll. If I got to put you on my payroll, let me know (Wonder who’s on Floyd’s payroll.) Arum is already known for doing … He’s a lawyer, so we already know he’s a professional liar.”

“Can I ask you a question? Where was Manny Pacquiao at in ’96? He was a pro before me. Where was he at in ’97? Where was he at in ’98? Where was he at all these years?”

Then a journalist asked Floyd if he was 100% certain Pacquiao is using PEDs, Mayweather, with almost hysterical animation, shot back that it’s “basic common sense.” Adding that Pacquiao’s hat size had “probably grown” from a 7 1/4 to an 8.

Though in recent weeks, Mayweather has been using the excuse that he will not agree to an even 50-50% split of the purse with Pacquiao, and that he would not “budge” on that term, but curiously, Mayweather made no mention of 50-50 yesterday. He seemed more interested in trying to tarnish and defame Pacquiao’s well-earned reputation and personal integrity by thashing him with baseless drug charges. And zero evidence to support his claims.

“This is how this world is. Writers are saying, ‘Floyd is scared,’ ” Mayweather ranted on, seemingly growing angrier and more animated each passing minute. “No, Floyd cares about his family. Floyd is smart. At the end of the day, Floyd is smart. My health is important. My health is more important than money. (Floyd “Health” Mayweather?) They can take all the money and my health is more important. If they say, ‘Floyd, you can live a healthy life like you is right now, or you got to walk with a limp, and walk all bent over, but you can have a lot of money for the rest of your life,’ I’d say, ‘Take it all back.”

“You see what happened when [Shane Mosley] was doing it. What happened to fighters when he was juicing? He was running through fighters. Then all of a sudden, guess what? I spoke on it and when I spoke on it, everybody was like, ‘Ah, Floyd’s just scared.’ Then, when you took it off of him and put him in front of me, what did he do? Got killed (Mayweather beat Mosley by unanimous decision – but was almost knocked out in the second round by Mosley who clubbed him with two big right hands).”

A clearly flustered and upset Mayweather then turned his attacks against American reporters in the room (there were some overseas journalists present too) for betraying him and not being sympathetic enough to him, stating that he donates and feeds underprivilged Americans every week, while slandering Pacquiao by accusing him of taking the money he makes in the U.S. out of the country to The Philippines. It was a pathetic argument. Fortunately, Mayweather did not idiotically condemn other foreign athletes like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Thierry Henry, David Beckham, Dirk Nowitzki, and Maria Sharapova of taking money out of America to their home countries.

Mayweather’s next topic of discussion was his imminent trip to jail. “Jail don’t scare me. I don’t worry about that. As long as my family is okay, because I done it for my family and my loved ones. I don’t feed American citizens because I want to get praised by the media. I don’t call nobody. I do it because it’s the right thing to do. If I got it, give it to them. When I make it, I give back. I just want you to tell me one thing: What has Pacquiao given back to the American citizens?”

I’ll answer that. Manny Pacquiao has given us honor, integrity, someone to admire and respect. He has touched the hearts of all of America, including Muhammad Ali who invited him to his birthday party, President Obama who invited him to the White House, and Jimmy Kimmel, who regularly invites him to be a guest on his ABC TV show. Manny has touched the hearts of corporations like Nike and HP and many others who see his example as a positive way to spread their brands. He has given us excitement and action and all the qualites we look for in our boxing champions. That’s all he’s obligated to give us.

Why is Floyd always bringing up fear for his health whenever he's asked about fighting Pac? This has to be a concern for even the most diehard Floyd fan. As a fighter, you cant bring up concern for for your health when it comes down to facing a particular fighter then blame people when they accuse you of being scared.

Guy is such an egomaniac; he probably feeds people and gives to charity to make himself feel that he is better than they are.

Problem with Floyd is, he charity work comes off as a PR move. He does it and make sure he announces it to the world.

At this point, after several reiterations, it is.

    Pretty surreal, actually.

Exacly, its ****ing embarrassing, its only when Pacquiao is brought up that he starts bitching about his health.
How can it be made more obvious without Floyd outright saying it that he fears this man?

I think Floyd has real doubt about his ability to beat Manny. He should learn to word his statements better though.
