Has there ever been a boxer like haye that has ducked so many boxers ? Why do boxer even give this guy the time of day ? He promised the champ he would fight him. The champ was right he scared.
It was a cheap move, but then again we are talking about David Haye. Deep down we knew it'll turn out that way didn't we?
Haye is keeping himself open for the best opportunity that presents itself. Lucas Browne and Fres Oquendo have been ordered by the WBA to fight within 120 days for the belt previously held by Chagaev. If Oquendo is unable to - and he is coming off a longterm injury and there must be some doubt - Haye may well get the gig.
I can see how Briggs could be very annoying so I don't blame Haye for messing him around. Haye doesn't gain anything from beating Briggs anyway, he would probably get criticised for fighting him.
Haye was a great fighter, but since toegate he has lost ALL credibilty as a person...still a good boxer though.
C'mon guys Haye probably as a self promoted fighter with no big TV network probably can't afford to pay the kind of money Briggs was after. Its 2 old past its both trying to con the public into a big money fight. Maybe the fans can actually just see through it for the farce that it actually is. Lets see who Briggs fights now - bet'ya its another CAN. And lets see who Haye fights next. I find it hard to see Haye keep fighting the level of opponents he has in his last 2 fights...but then again he might take a leaf out of Briggs book...as he's a lot more fights in and still fighting nobodies. Do you ever stop to wonder why ? Answer - they are both CON ARTISTS past their sell by date.
Haye fights Briggs - he gets criticized for fighting a weak opponent. Haye doesn't fight Haye - he gets criticized for ducking him. Haters win either way
