If he wins, it will be his only win against a top fighter so give the P4P talk a rest. There is no rational argument to support it. If he goes on to beat Juanma he should definitely be in the P4P top ten.
:happy Awesome news!! I've got Gamboa by UD- John's a quality fighter, but I think Gamboa's just got too much going for him offensively and John doesn't have the power to throw him off.
Nice ... but I hope its in the states .... no way john loses in indonesia ... he can get knocked out and he'll win but split decision ... ima go 75% gamboa ... I think if john uses his reach and his timing is on point then he can hurt gamboa ... I can see gamboa go back to his amateurish tendencies if he gets hurt
Why? CJ has a better resume than JML and has been at this weight his whole career, Who JML has beat? Luevano, Concepcion, Rafael Marquez going up in weight and one handed, common b real. He even beat JMM when Marquez was at his peak.
****in hell you're thick. I already said CJ is a good win, but it will be Gamboa's only big win in his career. You need more than one big win (or a prolonged period of domination) to get into the P4P rankings. You keep saying CJ is a tough fight and I'm not disagreeing with you. But it's nowhere near enough to put him in the top 10 and we both know it.
Chris John of a few years ago, and this would have been a great fight. Now? Gamboa by mid-rounds KO. If Chris John isn't shot, he's getting close, and his punch resistance seems to have disappeared.
I can't say how inactivity will affect John, we'll have to see how he does in his next fight. Until then I'm saying Gamboa by Decision.
Judges will have their cards already filled out, but if John is like he used to be, it will be interesting, John will get robbed if it goes to a decision though.
Bumped. I just bought two John-Saucedo's fight ticket next saturday for about 16 USD per ticket. It will not be a very exciting match, but at least I can see John's condition after more than 1 year absent. Really looking forward for Gamboa-John, his experience, skills and craftiness might give a lot of problem to the young powerhouse. Anyway, I was suprised to find on a few round on Youtube on of John's rarer fight. It's from 2008, against Japan's then undefeated Hiroyuki Enoki. A really good fight, credits to original uploader: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A77Nw7HTnas&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxUeAg-JUOs&feature=related[/ame]
John is tooooo slooooow to handle Gamboa, even in 2008 he was still too slow so imagine now? Gamboa will TKO John for good.
:rofl Unless your from Indonesia you know JMM got robbed and he was not at his peak. JMM's peak was 122-126lbs. Just look at the speed, power, and timing he had at 122-126. Those 3 things aren't even comparable to how he was back then.
