    hmm says . . .

some people tend to forget that some of the biggest fights in history were in shitty venues outside vegas and in other countries......

You can't blame the crowd or Jerry Jones, but the lack of entertainment value... no one could've foreseen this (albeit the matching in the undercard)... however this was good for boxing... it got common folk to watch/ a more mainstream audience instead of a predominately high roller audience in Vegas. Boxing reaching out again...

Precisely, the way it was organized and the tv transmission were more of a problem. All the time people associated with football were shown (including cheerleaders, how ridiculous is that?). Not to mention the constant camera angles presenting how fantastic the stadium was.

The whole transmission felt more like an ad for the venue and was not focused on the event.

No, the thread starter is right on the money with this one. I was there live and the sorry undercards created so much anticipation and unrest to crowd waiting solely for the main event. The majority of the crowd did not know about Clottey's style so they were pretty bummed out about the fight not living up to the excitement (excitement as in, Manny would knock the **** out of Clottey being such a favorite).

In addition, Texans are the most horrible boxing crowd ever. Rowdy, ignorant, impatient, whiny, drunk as fck, dressed up like a pimp (seriously one guy was dressed like a f'king pimp). Seems like they just came to be seen rather than really know what the hell was going on in the boxing world. For 50K+, the crowd was wack.

If you heard loudness during Diaz and Soto fight, it was because the crowd wanted to do the wave like 10 times in a row (yea, Texas.)

True, some of them were real nice.

But that's still no way to broadcast a fight of the P4P#1 fighter, as an afterthought to the venue and the cheerleaders.

Arlington (all of TX to be specific) is a football city, no other sport brings more rowdy fans than football.

boxing has lost many fans, that's why the atmosphere wasn't good.

but i must agree, 50,994 was the attendance...****ing impressive to be honest.

Ahh, so you hate Jerry. I do too, but he will do it right, there is no doubt about that. The new Cowboys stadium is an excellent venue and to say otherwise is just foolish.

The undercard was a joke, and sucked leading up the big fight.. it in and of itself was giant letdown.

I ain't blaming the crowd for what didn't happen in the ring.

I'm sure the atmosphere isnt what matters to Floyd. He would fight in Bill Gates' back garden in a pink hula dress if it meant he could make an extra couple of million

And that's coming from a texan too pimp C. You and I both know that dallas isn't a fight town. Now you put last nights fight in san antonio
and you would have heard some noise.
