i wish this fight was at 147 too, just because then manny would get full credit.......just IMO i think manny beats cotto at anyweight.....

but i wish the haters would understand manny is not a welterweight.....he can now naturally fight at 140, and even there he is a small jr. welter.....and he is at the moment the cash cow of the sport....so if cotto says yes i want to fight its only fair that cotto would drop 2 or 3 pounds to fight manny......its just common sense....

I want the fight at 147 too, for the same reasons. Manny would get all the credit if he wins. But the flipside is, if Cotto wins, he wouldn't get as much credit because a lot of people will be saying that Cotto is too big. Not exactly fair to Cotto. IMO an agreed on catchweight is needed so that whoever wins will get credit.

i'm starting to think that it would be better for pac to fight cotto @147 instead. if he wins, pac will get full credit and again get a legendary win, a 7th weight championship that will further elevate his status in boxing history. if he loses, pac won't lose stature as cotto, fighting in his own natural weight class will be accused of picking on a much smaller guy. cotto will therefore be in a no-win situation if this fight happens @147. he will get little credit for a win while pac won't lose status. on the other hand, pac gets full accolades if he wins while cotto loses a tremendous amount of status losing to a much smaller guy. cotto's career as a top fighter will be virtually over if he loses to the much smaller pac @147.
