Dude Cotto was killing himself to make the junior ww division when he fought Paulie and HE WEIGH IN 139 POUNDS IN WHICH IS A POUND UNDER THEN JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT LIMIT. IS THAT MEAN COTTO WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM LOSING 2 MORE POUNDS AT 137 POUNDS TO FACE A FIGHTER LIKE VALERO?

 

Duran isn't exactly the best example to use considering that he would blow up in weight between fights and would struggle to get the weight off. His desire to train hard was also heavily scrutinized after the first Leonard fight he probably welcomed the move up in weight.

 

Yea it is. Isn't he the one that is demanding Arum to make the Cotto fight happens? Well if it's at a catch weight then Pacquiao is taking huge advantage and won't fight fighters at their best. You won't see it cause your a biased Pacquiao fans. <<<<<Whatelse is new?

 

he did once against tarver as a 43 year old fighter. Cotto is 28 years old who was a 140 champ 3 years back and he cant do it. Im not dissing Cotto here. its for whatever's sake.

And yet he still beat Leonard, went to distance with Hagler and Hearns and he started his career at 118 i believe. Duran fought the best in his era and never once try to take advantage in his favor. <<<Duran got more guts then any thing Pacquiao has ever done and that's something you can't say about that.

So how can Hopkins can kill himself to make weight a catch weight at 170 pounds if his fight vs Tarver at 175 pounds is his first fight moving up from skipping to super middleweight to light heavyweight? And good lord Hopkins fought Tarver at Tarver weight class.

What are you saying, that Cotto couldn't make the weight or he could but just would be rendered ineffective in doing so? If it's the latter, your Malignaggi example isn't a very good one considering Paulie took a severe beating in that fight.
