I would like to see Floyd/Pac as well, but I think Hatton wins May 2nd.

mayweather comeback rumors have become such an absurdity here...it reminds me of being in middle school, remember? when some lame kid would come back from summer vacation and say he nailed some hot foreign girl over the summer when he was staying with his grandparents in toronto...he never had a picture, but she was hot...just like when i was 11, i can't get hyped up about something that amounts to one-sided speculation with no verifiable origin and so no validity.

this whole thing is made worse by the fact that mayweather, himself, boxing genius and poor example of a sportsman that he was, relishes all the attention, but, clearly, does not enjoy the fighting so much. not that he ever did...floyd never once seemed hungry. he was dominant, he was a remarkable athletic talent, but he never seemed to love the ring. he seemed to love complaining about not having enough, respect, money and air-time, while simaltaneously saying he was the richest and most spotlighted man in the universe. he seemed forever mad that he had to actually use his gifts in thr ring to enjoy the benefits of being a world champion and pound-for-pound king.

unless he needs the money, he'll just keep starting comeback rumors, giving incindiary quotes to the press and then manufacturing reasons why any preliminary negotiations fell through. it's as predictable as it is lame.

    I agree.

No doubt he will need a tune up if he drags this retirement any further. I, however, am starting to think he will just end up retired. The current shape floyd is in might be an indicator.

wow, relax. it's not a personal attack. however, something has to be classified as a rumor until there is an official announcement by the fighter or his team. and, after that, the fight actually has to go off without any contract or injury shenanigans. that's all i'm saying.

i haven't seen pictures of floyd that are any more recent that three or four months old. in those he looked a little soft, but not terrible. has he packed on weight? is he looking bad? i'm curious...not that i doubt he could get back in shape, but it's never good for a fighter looking for a return to pull a buster douglas.

It was a personal attack. Floyd is coming back, and has a date lined up with a soon to be named opponent. Read your post again, and ask yourself that if Floyd read what you wrote, he wouldn't be offended a bit by your bias.

i meant that it wasn't a personal attack at you, hence my questioning why you took it so personally. since you are not floyd mayweather, it cannot be a personal attack against you. i understand fully that floyd, himself, might not like what i said. which would be fine. i never cared for him and considered him a poor sportsman and an awful example of many of the worst personality attributes a fighter can have. i always wondered why he was so nasty, bitter and childish despite being in possession of the finest boxing skills in the sport. floyd doesn't have to like it. i am very sure that he would never care one bit what i might or might not think of him. that's fine too. message boards are intended to present contrasting opinions, otherwise what is the point? all i was saying was that i didn't want you to take a comment about floyd mayweather personally, as if i just cut you in line at a restaurant or something.
