YES! what a great fight! tough one to call though...

 

you guys need to watch a few more of martinez's fights. he's a much better fighter than quintana in pretty much every way.

 

Martinez has one standout loss on his record ... to Margarito at WW.
And despite the fact that he KO'ed Cintron in their fight, he went live and death in the later rounds nearly allowing the win to slip from his grasp. (i felt he won the fight, but draw on the cards)
So now we're expected to believe that Williams is not as good as either Margarito or Cintron? hmm...

Goosen is a moron...this fight is all wrong for Williams

If Quintana gave Williams trouble, Martinez is going to take him to school and possibly KO him.

The first fight with Quintana was no fluke...southpaws find their way in when fighting Paul Williams.

Martinez destroyed Cintron bad. In fact, it was a legit knockout. . .on watching the replay you will see that both Cintron and the ref thought it was a headbutt but it clearly wasn't. Then the bogus point deduction cost Martinez the win. That robbery is on the same level as Whitaker-Chavez, Lewis-Holy I and Sturm-DLH. It was a hometown draw for the US fighter against the foreigner.

This type of if "A beats B and B beats C imples A beats C reasoning" is actually very good in mathematics. . .is, however, nearly worthless in Boxing because of styles. By that logic Margo should have destroyed Mosely. By that logic Mayorga should have not been even remotely close to actually giving Mosely a far harder fight than what Margo gave him since Mayorga was destroyed by DLH.

 

Martinez better keep his hands up, which he rarely does. When you have a guy winging shots at you non-stop, the way PDub does, you need to keep a nice high and tight guard. If you don't, the sheer volume of punches coming at you virtually guarantees that someting big will catch you.
