Its ON!!!! Sergio Martinez vs Paul Williams!

I have a feeling that Peterson and Goosen are straight up lying just to promote PW as the best fighter from 147 to 160, when in reality he can't make 147 and has accomplished nothing at the other weight classes. Paul's a good fighter with a lot of balls but his team overhyping him is actually undermining him.

 

He stayed down for the ref's count of ten. Whether he thought it was a headbutt or not, the ref was counting and he didn't get up before 10. After that Martinez was doing about as good as he was previously. There's really nothing to think about, the few rounds Cintron won might have come in the second half, but there wasn't any massive shift in momentum.

There is no reason this fight shouldn't be at 154.

I guess I better go back and watch the fight again. Maybe my mistake. At any rate I thought Martinez won the fight and was robbed.

 

The point of hyping up a fighter? That should be obvious. The more hype the more attention, the more attention the more money.

 

Martinez is going to get smoked. As long as this fight is at 160, PW should've fought a legit MW like David Lopez or Golovkin. Even Gevor, Lorenzo, Simon, Geale, or Rubio would've been a more competitive fight.

 

Because it's only a short term approach. If he loses at this point it going to affect his career in a terrible way. Think of what happened to Lacy, the bubble burst and everyone was gone.

 

I'd be tempted to pick Sergio at 154, but at 160 I think Williams has an obvious advantage. Martinez wanted to fight Pavlik before Pavlik said he wanted Williams, and Martinez was on HBO's list of possible KP opponents, so we can be pretty certain KP will fight the winner next spring. It will suck big time if Martinez beats PDub.

 

The middleweight division is so weak that i bet my money Martinez would beat either one of those fighters you mention at middleweight. Look if Spinks could well at 160 pounds when he barely lost to Taylor then i don't see how Martinez can't do well with Williams at 160 pounds. You people that are bashing about this fight at middleweight are just being stupid.

 

What exactly has Martinez ever accomplished to earn him such a fierce reputation? The only reason he's getting this, got the WBC 154 title is because of Lou Dibella and his connections. Martinez is a good fighter, but not exceptional. Look at what PW did to Phillips and Wright, Martinez is going to get smoked easy. And don't bring up that Quintana crap, unless your talking about the rematch.

David Lopez and Golovkin would knock Martinez out faster than Margarito did a decade ago. PW and Martinez at 160 is a hype fight, cause Martinez has no chance.

 

PW is gonna TKO him in round 10. The right hook will be the money punch both upstairs and downstairs.
