The facts are Kovalev was looking for a way out. He turned his back earlier and Ward could have jumped on him but didn't. Kovalev kept looking to the ref to help. Kov was on his way out with that massive right hand and there's no way you claim those shots were intentional but some might have been controversially low. If you thought that Ward shoudl have been DQ'd the only person who isn't sober here is you. Jesus christ lmao. How desperate and pathetic can you get.

Hopefully tomorrow you won't be crynig still, actually nah, I enjoy seeing you crying because your guy lost.

He took the head shot pretty well but it's pretty clear he hates getting punched in the body

Ward is not known as a big hitter. The very fact that he stopped Kovalev confirms that he doesn't take a good shot. And it's not the first time Kovalev has tasted canvas, either!

Lederman's card was atrocious. Oh and two of the official judges had it about OK. Turns out Ward probably was gonna win a split decision if that continued and went to a decision. From memory I feel like rounds 1-3 were hard to score, but I thought Ward barely won 1 and 3 with landing the better quality punches and Kovalev took round 2. Round 4 was clear for Ward, round 5 very very close. But I mean Ward was landing the quality punches. Kovalev would land a few more but many of them were not flush. Just goes to show how COMPUBOX IS COMPLETELY FLAWED. I mean look at compubox # landed, every round but the 4th favored Kovalev, but it means nothing. Ward won most of those rounds by landing the BETTER punches. And punch variety. Body punches, hooks, harder sharper jabs, etc.

Ward hit him clean and sharp, but not hard.
Kovalev was just drained, and getting hit clean is never good no matter your chin.

It's not like Kovalev fell on his back from a big blow.
He got dazed, lost his energy so his hands were low.
He got hit in the balls and sat on the ropes.

    That's not low resistance.

Reiterating a point that's already been agreed on by both parties. Ward was clearly on his way to winning this fight. Repeating it over and over doesn't change the fact that Ward ended the fight with 3 low blows. When tomorrow comes the facts are still going to be the same. Ward turned what would have been a great win into a controversial black eye in boxing reaffirming what everyone already thought of the guy. I honestly don't understand how people can support a guy like that.

You thought that Ward should have been dq'd lol. Just lol. Well it's simple the punch that did the clear damage was the right hand. Kovalev was not punching back, Ward went for the body. Those punches were borderline at best low blows. Some of them could have been a belt too. Ward went for the kill and I thought the ref did stop too early. In my opinion he should have let Ward continue to punish Kovalev and get a cleaner stoppage. I don't understand how anyone can support a guy that compares a black fighter to a chimp. Oh wait.

3 consecutive fouls to end a fight deserves a DQ. yes.

Lederman's card was correct. Kov was controlling the battle....but losing the war.

His stamina is bull****. He was wiped after 4rds which is SAD.

Ward set him up and then just gored him to the body. Beautiful KO.

Interesting that Bivol and Bieterbiev are now him mandatories. After what i saw tonight both probably beat Ward tbh. Ward is damn good and mentally tough, but he's too small and weak for this weight class.

    Sergey probably gotta retire.

They were not 3 consecutive fouls. 2 were borderline and 1 you could not see. You have to look at how severe the foul is too. Those were not clean low blows. Anyone that thinks that fight should have been a DQ should just quit watching boxing. That MASSIVE right hook GGG landed on Lemieux did FAAR more damage than borderline low blows that did not even hit his balls unless his balls are above his dick.

"They were not 3 consecutive fouls. 2 were borderline and 1 you could not see."
The footage clearly shows 98% of the glove landing below the belt.

"You have to look at how severe the foul is too."
They ended the fight. How much more severe does it get?

Maybe showing what clean consecutive bodyshots to end a fight look like will help you contrast the massive difference between Wards bending of the rules and a clean fighters arsenal.

Anybody that questions Kovalev's ability to take punches, should watch him against Pascal in the first fight.

The difference is that he was able to land on Pascal. He just couldn't land on Ward and it was frustrating him. Kovalev folded. He wasn't able to cope mentally.

It wasn't severe at all. They were borderline, Kovalev was badly hurt from a right hand that is why the fight got stopped.

So I have a question for you. If Kovalev landed a massive right stunned Ward and hurt him bad. If he landed controversial shots to the back/side to the head that are borderline rabbit punches 3 times and Ward went down and the fight was stopped, would you have been calling for a DQ?

    Hellllll no.

    Those tears are so delicious.

I already had it in my head Ward was winning this fight by TKO before that round even started. I have already admitted this. I don't have a single post in all of my history on this site that supports the narrative you're insinuating. If you're going to blame an agenda for a person defending a fighter that had their fight stopped due to clear fouls that we have on HD footage then you might want to take a step back and reevaluate your view.

Clear views? I'm basing my opinion off the HBO footage. Is there footage of a clear view? If you're claiming the HBO footage was a "clear" view for all 3 punches, then you might want to take your own advice.

Your guy quit and got stopped. Sorry.

Seriously though. Anyone that thought that those punches warranted a DQ need to stop commenting on boxing.
