Has anyone noticed how quiet K2 and GBP are? Dead silent. We're at the 5 days mark regarding the 15 day countdown of GBP's deadline. This reminds me a lot of the early negotiations with Top Rank and Mayweather Promotions. It was super quiet, and the quieter things were, the more good things were happening. I think it's safe to say K2 and GBP are in deep discussions, and the talks are very sensitive as you can imagine which is reason why it is being kept on the down-low. Still, "Golovkin" (or more like his promotion) tweeted this out today: Teasing us? You all may say I'm over thinking things, but I like to say I'm paying attention to the devil in the details.
I believe that Golovkin will move down to please Canelo, but will Canelo fight him still or make more excuses?
If GGG's team were going off to media and complaining, talking then you'd know negotiations weren't a) going well or b) happening at all. Because they'd be trying to get media/fan attention to put pressure on GBP. Instead, it's DEAD quiet (good) and GGG's team tweeted how boxing fans should get excited and "Stay tuned". Hmmmm.........:think
I have heard that GGG and Canelo have agreed upon a fighting weight...somewhere along the lines of 155-157.. Only lead i have is from the UK tribune. This fight would be very scrummy if it were to materialize. I think Canelo beats GGG, and you blokes will be gobsmacked by the way Canelo does it.
I won't trust WBC until I see an official announcement that they stripped off Canelo. Canelo is a cash cow. They bend their rules for a nobody like Wilder, can't imagine how far they could go for Canelo. They could have him keep the belt for 5 years without fighting a single mando as long as Canelo bribes them the payment disguised as sanctioning fee or step aside or whatever bogus word they invent for the bribery.
