It's safe to say that Wladimir would knock out his brother at this point.

Wlad has a better offense but a weaker chin. Vitali has a better chin but at this point a weaker offense. It is a tough call at this point, id favor wlad ever so slightly based on his athleticism.

  5. Wlad is clearly the better of the 2,...
But VK is 38-39, fighters start slowing down at that age...

What's that got to do with me?

This defacto co champion crap is getting old. the HW division has been an after thought since Lewis' retirement, enough already.

exactly!! this brotherly love bull**** is getting old really fast, either they fight each other or maybe they should both retire and start a family sitcom.

Pitting brother against brother in a sport, in which the athletes may be permanently injured or even die.

    Great idea, sir.

Vitali looked "pathetic"? Ummm, yeah, sure! If by "pathetic" you mean winning every round against an undefeated contender who was in full survival mode from the opening bell.

Klitschko looked fine. He did what he had to do and made easy work of Johnson who was perfectly content with never trying to win or mount any kind of meaningful offense.

I do, however, agree that Wlad has surpassed Vitali.

I think Wlad has been the best heavyweight hands down since winning his rematch with Byrd. There was a time when Vitali would have beaten Wlad, but Vitali has been in decline since that point whereas Wlad has improved tremendously.

Are you saying you wouldn't watch it?

    Thought so.

**** do you care about their health? Your argument against it would make sense if you were concerned about it being a pedestrian pitty pat contest with both men doing almost no work, leaving us with a boring fight. But I'd rather take my chance on that than continue with this boring, non explosive reign we currently deal with. It's worthy if HW Champ of the World, this status quo.

At this point? I don't think so. Maybe back in 2003 that was the case, but not now.

Wlad knows how to survive in there. He also throws much sharper punches. Vitali does not commit to his punches the way he used to.

Wlad should be able to set the pace with his superior jab. Whenever Vitali gets in close, Wlad ties him up like an octopus and ultimately wears him down.

Of course, there could be a psychological "big brother" thing that comes into play, but I doubt it.

Wlad would be ill-advised to try to wear Vitali down cause he could end up being the one who gasses out. Wlad throws sharper punches but Vitali dodges punches better than Wlad and controls distance better as well. Wlad would be getting tagged often when he opens up.

his best bet would be to stick and move on Vitali but even then I think Vitali closes the gap on Wlad and find openings between his jabs to get his shots in.

I agree with the spirit of what you're saying.

It's frustrating as a fan to have two dominant heavyweights who refuse to fight, regardless of circumstance.

The best thing for the division, right now, would be if Haye could somehow beat one of the brothers. Then the other brother could fight Haye for all the marbles.

I don't know, PH|LLA. I think you are both overratting Vitali and underrating Wlad at this point.

While Wlad has looked better and better, having fine-tunes his style under the guidance of Emanuel Steward, Vitali has began showing his age this year. He looked very uncomfortable at times in his fights with Gomez and especially Arreola.

Wlad is faster, stronger, and throws sharper punches. I don't think Vitali would be able to close the gap as easily as you think, and in the rare instances when he did, I do not believe he would be able to find too many openings as Wlad is a master at smoothering these days.

Again, there was a time when I would have picked Vitali to beat Wlad, but that time has passed.

Vitali's main advamtages over Wlad in the past were the intangibles. Toughness, courage, heart, and desire.

I don't Vitali could beat him, but unfortunately, we will never know.
