What does Cotto weigh on fight night? He looks like a WW, I've always been a bit confused by all this, "he CAN'T make 147 anymore" talk.

So a young fighter who is bigger just going the full 12 with today's mosley is a better perfor
Mance than cotto beating a very game mosley at his own game?

I could only imagine how a pre margarito cotto would punish the current mosley version

[t doesn't matter if 2007 Mosley was better, Cotto didn't do better against Mosley than Canelo did. Cotto's fight with Mosley was very close and competitive.

Huh, are you serious...Mosley, wasn't half the fighter he was when he fought Canelo.

This was right after shane destroyed vargas twice and easily beat collazo who was giving guys trouble around that time. And before the margarito massacre

    He was very game

If you think that Mosley was a tough fighter when he fought Canelito, i really don't know what to tell you or say. Watch those fights and the level of competition around the Cotto and Mosley time frame and than we can talk sensible boxing.

Good choice for Cotto, 154 is his best weight now.
(Can't hate on him for wanting to go for a possible 4 wts either)

As PR said... One up Trinidad (on paper)

Winning 10-11 rounds decisively is a better performance than 7 or 8 competitive rounds. It's that simple. Cotto had the more meaningful win, but Alvarez performed better. It's like with Floyd and Manny against Oscar. Floyd faced the better version of Oscar, but Manny performed better against Oscar.

#1 Cotto is damaged goods and past prime
#2 Canelo is a chump compared to a prime Cotto.

Look at mutual opponents for example, Cotto performed much better, Cotto beat better opposition better in his career even before he became a champ. Yes Canelo at this point would beat Cotto, but thats IRRELEVANT. Cotto vs Canelo is simply about Cotto entertaining the possibility of cashing out. If he wins, he'll try to cash in again and so forth.

Isn't easier to perform better when your opponent can't pull the trigger anymore?

but whatever. . . . Canelo vs Cotto is a good fight, best part about it is that you will see skill, fireworks and a stamina contest

Probably Sergio, But Vs. Quillin would do big attendance in NY.

I don't think draining back down to 147 would be beneficial to Cotto at this stage of his career. Just IMO. Good decision.
