Exactly. This is his shot. If he doesn't take it, he won't be able to blame anyone else at the end of his career.

I believe Green would lose to every fighter in the tournament. That doesn't mean he shouldn't take his next fight.

Green dropping out and passing up a title shot after all that complaining would be even more embarrassing than the beating he just took.

That said, I wouldn't put anything past him after that ridiculous post-fight interview he just gave.

Why would he ever drop out, his interview after the fight was littered with excuses of why he underperformed to make him look like he could still be more competitive.

Andre Ward was masterful in there last night and reading a lot of this thread is ****ing hilarious.

    Miranda has jaw dropping power.

To break Abraham's jaw at the weight he was at was as impressive as Roy Jones breaking Virgil Hills rib. Usually only heavyweights have that kind of power so it's safe to say that Miranda is one of the hardest punchers to ever lace up the gloves. Unfortunately thats all he is.

While I agree Andre Ward is a very skilled 168'er and would probably have the beating over almost all the other super sixers. Does his resume really warrant being number one? I hate to say it but watching him walk through a fighter the way he did last night who let's be honest never looked like he was in with a shout all night, and a gun shy Mikkel Kessler doesn't convince me he deserves to be #1 YET.

Number one on skill level maybe not so on resume although I'm quite sure that will change in his next few fights.

why was Green who from the beginning only had a puncher chance wearing Grant gloves while that Sven Ottke Godson guy was on Everlast? :patsch

Your post was more or less fine up until this point. No, Miranda is not one of the hardest punchers in history.

Miranda has very good power. But to say one of the best ever is an exaggeration. Yes, he broke AA's jaw, but who has he KO'd?

I will say this, his KO of David Banks is one of my favorites.

I was impressed actually with Ward, he knew it would be stupid for him to fight from the outside against Green who can hurt you at anytime and who possessed the longer reach, so he drove him to the ropes, took that away, and mauled him. It might not have been pretty but it was smart.

That being said, i think i will be favoring Dirrell over him, i think this will be a great matchup and im very excited for it, i think if Dirrell can keep his head straight and nerves under control, he has a great shot of beating Ward, I hope Dirrell or his coaches are smart enough to understand the things he needs to train for in this fight. What a matchup this will be.

Right. He's out near the front in this era (especially in his 160 days), but to cast him in with the likes of Julian Jackson? Even Rubin Carter? Nah...

How do you see Dirrell squashing Ward's attempts to fight on the inside, kirk?

no it can happen quite easily if you get caught silly while you have your mouth open. breaking someons jaw does not proove exorbitant power.
Montiel has recently broken Hasegawas jaw at 122lbs

I´m still wondering why Green choose to wear Grant gloves yesterday though
