He certainly wasn't expecting Vit's challenge. But he still won. Fighters don't always get a rematch. Lewis was old and inactive against a prime Vitali.

Also, I find it bizzare that a boxer that doesn't even possess the basic punches can be considered an ATG.

Ask Vitali what an uppercut is and he'll think you're speaking alien.

Just an outright stupid post. Go watch the tapes of the Danny Williams KO and listen to Roy JOnes on HBO say WOW what an uppercut by Vitali. Then later WOW a double uppercut from Vitali, you rarely see that from a big man.

Dan, go back and read your books and start taking notes while watching Vitali fights. then come back to us in a year or two and you should be okay. no shoo away young man,

I don't give a **** what Roy Jones' said he did in one fight. I've watched Hatton fights where the commentator said "nice jab by Ricky", but guess what? Hatton can't jab for ****.

Fact is, I've watched Vitali fights where he could have EASILY finished the job by throwing a simple, school boy punch, and he couldn't even think of it.

So stop being ignorant and arrogant at the same time, which is actually difficult to do.

Vitali is the best of of a very, very , very weak heavyweight era. The weakest ever. Ever.

He had his chance to beat a fat old Lennox Lewis who took the fight on a short notice. Lennox was about to KO himself from exhaustion. Did Vitali beat him? Nope. He WAS winning, but Lennox busted up his eye. Injuries=stoppage, just like KO/TKO=stoppage.

Quit against Chris Byrd even though he was comfortably ahead. "Mommy, my shoulder hurts!" :|

Lewis is better. He never lost a fight.

He would have beaten Rahman and McCall had he not been KOED.

He also took Vitali to school.

    Did he?

Hide was up on all scorecards when the fight got stopped. Vitali may have "won" but Hide was the true winner.

    Hide won the event.

Vitali offered Herbie a rematch and 65 % of the purse.

Hide stated flatly that he had no interest.

In fact he said he'd rather fight Mike Tyson and Sonny Liston together at the same time than step into the ring with that Ukranian monster again.

He became quite emotional and had to be helped away from that news conference.

He carrys around a little vial of fast acting super-ativan that dissolves under the tongue, just in case he has Vitali flashbacks.

    Sad case, really.

Lets be honest, when you're 6'7 and weigh 245-250 you cannot compare his accomplishments to guys who were 4+ inches shorter and 20+ pounds lighter. Vatali is not great by any means he just happens to have a natural physical advantage over most of his opponents and he often times does not use them to his full advantage.(don't even bring up Valuev because of his size because he doesn't count.).
