The day after Pavlik beat Miranda a few fools put up threads like Pavlik vs Haglar, who wins? The same sort of threads appeared immediately after Pavlik/Taylor I. The appropriate answer to those threads was, and still is, "Shut the **** up and go back to your mother's basement!"

The first time I really took note of Kelly was in the McKart fight. Obviously Bronco was way past his best, and fighting above his best weight, but he still had enough in the tank to expose a hype job, or give most "B" level fighters a rough night. When Pavlik put "Superman" down with a single lead right to the body, I thought, "Who the hell is this kid?" Pavlik went out and handed McKart his first ever KO loss in the very next round. I did a bit of research and came to the conclusion that Pavlik would take Taylor out in 8 rounds or less.

Before the Miranda fight a solid 70% of ESB posters said Miranda would KO Pavlik. I said no freakin' way. Pavlik will eat this guy.

Before the first Taylor fight about 75% of ESB posters predicted that Taylor would win a wide UD or stop Pavlik late. Another 5% or so claimed Taylor would just blow Pav out with ease. We all know what happened.

Before the second Tayor fight a good 25-30% predicted Taylor would fight a smarter fight and outbox Pavlik. JT fought a much smarter fight, but it did him no good. With injuries to BOTH hands, Pavlik adapted and won by unanimous decision. In other words he outboxed the guy who was supposedly faster, more atheltic, and more skilled.

These days a myriad of Calzombies come on here and claim Joe would would beat Pavlik easily in a one sided fight. However, these are mostly the same posters who predicted that Miranda and Taylor would both beat Kelly, and they get down right vitriolic about it. One can only conclude that most of the hate for Pavlik comes from posters who are **** poor analysts.

I saw the Lacy-Pavlik comparisons several times, and each time i just go; HUH?:nut It's like comparing Tye Fields to Vlad!atsch

 

I laid it out in detail back about page 5 I think it was exactly why Pavlik is nothing like Lacy. But that's where they get it, thinking Lacy was a come forward power puncher, disreguarding all the HUGE differences that really exist between the two.:yep

 

I like Pavlik as he strikes me as an "honest" fighter in the sense he comes & gives his all making up for his technical frailties with good old fashioned bollocks..........However the "next big thing" vibe from across the water does **** me off a bit & stupid posts saying he is this & that are the main reason , I do hope he carries on because I like what he represents in boxing but for ****s sake let him walk before he can run.....

 

TFFP -- I'm glad we finally agree on something. That's exactly what Slappy Joe will look like by the time Pavlik knocks him out in the 10th round!

Well guess what? Pavliks REAL 2!!! Favor Calzaghe but do see that Pavlik will give ol Joe the toughest fight he's ever been in.

I'm taking Pavlik TKO and hope that some Euro friend/fans will understand. We definitely wont agree til the final bell TOLLS:smoke
