After reading your words, I did a little research and discovered that much of Conan the Barbarian is based on Niko's life.

Much was based on his early childhood when, as a rather enormous, hairy youngster, SNV would traverse the steppes and meet whatever adventures came his way, including banging the witch(which incidentally resulted in the birth of Joe Pesci) and climbing the tower and slaying the giant snake within. But, contrary to the film where Conan used a sword, SNV used one of the popsicle sticks which he would normally use to make popsicles from the blood of his enemies mixed with snow.
