Oh no doubt that Naito is a dangerous opponent. But he and Wonjongkam have already fought each other ad nauseum. I am pretty sure that they have been in the ring so much against each other that they know what the other man is thinking.

That is true..there last fight was a good example of this.

And I think they are going for a 5th soon aswell.

Too late for him he is already on the way down, if you see a few of his fight he is not the same fighter. He fight very diferent of his prime years.

 

I would love to see him get to America. Excellent fighter.

Reminded me of the time I was in Japan and watched the Naito vs Daiki Kameda fight. Probably one of craziest and dirtiest boxing matches I saw whilst there (wrestling and trying to throw elbows..advised by his corner/Kameda bro). Daiki shaved his hair and formally apologized to Naito and the organization for fighting dirty/dishonorably. Wonjonkam > Naito ain't no joke if he beat him 3 times and if Naito was able to get past Daiki Kameda, a boxer from a prominent boxing family (cough cough Koki Kameda).....

Wonjonkam needs more exposure especially at 31... otherwise he'll be one of those forgotten prospects...something to look forward to in the lower weights. He's recognized by the Japanese already (boxing world).

 

But really who against?

Donaire? Im not so sure that will be an attractive fight for Nonito, who looks like he has a fight lined up at superfly anyway.

Pong is a pretty average sized flyweight..so if he can still make the weight he would be better off fighting there. So Im not sure he would move up to 115.

Perhaps the recently dethroned Solis or Canchila?

He has had like 15 defenses of his title was champ for over half a decade...

If Galaxy can be remembered in such a fond way, then I cant see any reason why he cant either.

 

Co-sign. The window of opportunity for him to get a big fight was when he and Arce were at the top of their game. But, they could never come to an agreement.

 

hmm says... forgotten prospect in terms of not making mainstream boxing// U.S., etc. I bet a good majority of boxing fans, especially ESBer, don't even know who he is or what he has accomplished.. Hence my statement. A prospect for boxing fans to behold but without exposure will just be one of those great boxers that will be forgotten.

 

Ah I get your point now...I dont think you need to do that to be a great fighter, thats for another thread though..it pisses me off sometimes that fighters are so overlooked just because they didnt fight in the states..even though they probably had better opposition and could make better coin at home.

If people were true students of the game they would care to look into fighters like him.
