Blood will flow. Flatlander says Rios used to regularly hand Victor his axe in training back in Kansas. Others claim Victor has progressed and is on a different level now and Brandon doesn't deserve the shot. I say BULL. Personally, I believe Ortiz is through. So does GBP. They were setting him up to lose to Canello but a 140 pounder beat the 154 pounder to the chance. Rios is moving up. I think this is the last possible 'big' fight for Ortiz, IF he continues to fight on. I think he likes the spot light and the paychecks but he doesn't like to get hit. Flatlander has detailed this many times. So, is it finally time for this fight?
It would be one of the few fights Arum would be glad to talk to GBP about. If I were Arum I'd start throwing it out in the press.
In boxing there is a thing we call weight classes. Think about that before posting fantasy match-ups.
Rios is would weigh in at 147. Certainly he would weigh in as much as Lopez did. Victor hasn't been at that weight for many fights. This ain't a fantasy match up.
My money would be on Rios. I don't think there would be much of a size disparity come fight night, and Rios so far has shown an unbreakable will. He was totally being outboxed by Abril and still kept trying despite being out of gas. Rios could take what Ortiz gives, but not vice versa. Golden Boy would never allow Top Rank the chance for that kind of victory, I don't think Danny Garcia would give his brother the chance either, and I don't think Victor would give Brandon the chance. Bad blood all across those lines.
Josesito Lopez fights @ 140. Came in at 144? Brandon does some heavy duty cutting. Weight will NOT be the difference in this fight.
