He's done. Arm-injury or not, he looked terrible. Andy looked like he wanted out about halfway through the first round.

Goodbye, you square-headed lunatic, and I mean that kindly.

You were never quite the same fighter after that car crash at the end of '99, yet for a while it looked like a late renaissance was in effect before the Brewster and now Austin losses brought it crashing down.

I'll miss crazy Golota. This is a sad way for it to end, but it is an end.

Its an end and a definite one. If Golota choses to fight one more fight it will be a good bye fight in Poland vs a nobody but most likely he will retire. I feel sorry for him. He wanted to retire after the Brewster fight but when he was in Germany to cheer on for Adamek they showed a highlight from the Brewster fight, Golota felt ashamed. he asked "why are they showing it". He didnt want to be remembered like that so he decided to make a comeback and now he got embarrassed again and this time its the worst, because Austin is not even known for a big punch. Lewis, Tyson, Brewsted are some of the heaviest hitters in the history of boxing.

I don't understand. Was he out for the count or did he retire due to an injury?

The latter, but frankly the injury looked fishy. I don't normally question fighters' injuries, but this is Golata we're talking about, a man with an extensive history of mental collapses in the ring. To me--and to be fair I was watching it on an internet feed with buffering problems--it looked like Austin's pressure got to him and he was looking for a way out.

It didn't seem like the ref called either one of the KDs even though they looked legit.

We dont know wether the injury is legit, in the slow motion he hits Austin with his forearm to the head and then Austin punches him in the arm with full force and then Golota grabs his arm so perhaps its legit just in a bad moment when he was getting his ass kicked. It doesnt matter really because its obvious now that Golota is too old and too slow, so injury or not he is not in shape to compete for world title.

Nah it wasn't fishy. The first kd was definitely legit but even with one arm Golota didn't want to quit and he could have done it easily. He had the mindset, it was just way too late, his body is not up to the task. It was a real injury.
