Stop talking about guys like crawford, spence and tank davis. These guys are overrated and haven't fought anyone. Josh taylor is for real. Regis is a very good fighter, this was an elite victor. We're going to see taylor in the p4p ranking soon enough. This guy is very skilled.
i agree with taking josh taylor seriously i also agree with tank being irrelevant some what until he decides to fight someone with a pulse but to say spence and crawford are overated shooting them down while uplifting taylor ........lol bad way to start a thread
Very well rounded fighter. Can box at range or in the pocket, he can switch hit, he can adapt in a fight & has a great engine & chin also.. for doing what he has in just 16 fights I'd say he's pretty special.. & props to his trainer too..
Is there anyone who wasn't taking him seriously prior? I mean even people that were pulling for Prograis (like myself), expressed that Josh was a serious, serious guy and elite at his weight. Also, what does talking/respecting the skill sets of Crawford, Spence, and Tank have to do with Josh? All 3 have had solid competition, not at the speed of Taylor (as none of them were fast tracked to the degree Josh was), but to say they're overrated and have fought no one makes no sense objectively.
Been taking him seriously since the first time I laid eyes on him and that's because I have pretty good vision in both of them. The Taylor vs Postol/Crawford vs Postol comparison is comical when you apply context and there's plenty to apply. The only thing we need to know is that 16-0 Taylor's resume and accomplishments not only>>the other champ at 140 when he (JCR) was at the same stage of his career but>>all the champs up at 147 too when they'd only had 16 fights and >> all of their accomplishments combined
Indeed. And those saying that Taylor and Prograis are overrated are talking rubbish. They both showed on Saturday night that they are ELITE fighters, and deserve some credit. It wasn't close because they are bad fighters, it was close because they are good fighters! Taylor has gone through HELL on his way to the trophy. Take Baranchyk for example. Taylor fought Baranchyk at his own game, not because he needed to..but because he WANTED to. He could have boxed Baranchyk's head off if he wanted, but he chose to go toe-to-toe instead and came out on top. That takes balls to do. Baranchyk is a handful for ANYBODY, a slick boxers worst nightmare. Josh Taylor has shown he can box AND fight. Someone who is adaptable, strong, fast. He has a bit of everything and that's why he can become a truly great 140lber.
Taylor is a B- level guy beating C level guys. Put it this way, the top 5 WW would clean out the JWW, possibly the top 8. And it’s not because of size because Taylor is bigger than a few of those guys and some are former 140lbers.
Not even close, porter is talentless and took spence to his limits. Taylor and regis are both A level
