Not meaning any disrespect to the great people of Wales BUT>>>>

If Slappy Calzaghe was TRULY the Pride of Wales then their pride must have been at an all time low. Welsh boxing fans like all others around the world knew Slappy was just smoke & mirrors
Just look where he went when he retired Is that debauchery worthy of pride?? not in my book

I doubt Joe would be able to boild down to MW, so if we assume the fight take place at SMW, we don't know how much of his power GGG would carry with him. We've seen another KO'artist, Arthur Abraham, beeing bullied around after moving up from MW to SMW.

Save from this questionmark, it's an interesting match up. How many really good pressure fighters did Joe ever face? Outboxing Joes slap-fu was pretty damn hard, so someone who could put some serious heat on him may be the best bet.

What an interesting fight that would've been. I'd imagine it would have to take place at SMW since Calzaghe was just too big for 160.

Well joe loves to throw punches in bunches, it would be really interesting to see how he would've held up to shots coming back at him from a guy with power like GGG has. But than again, who knows how powerful Gennady would be at 168.

Hard to say, I think Gennady is the better boxer and more fundemanetally sound of the 2. But Joe C knew how to beat his opponents just by his sheer work rate alone. Good hypothetical H2H matchup that will be more interesting to dissect after GGG starts campaigning at 168 in the future (hopefully.)

thing is, its not what Joe said that is the point, so I am not sure why you are getting so worked up about what he said.

    - its what he did and didn't do that counted. he used words like that to explain avoiding tough opposition...to NOT do stuff.

so words are nothing, actions of Joe speaks volumes. but you missed that and concentrated on the words for some reason , perhaps words are more important to you than what you actually do.

Top work. Although expect Herol Gee to now argue the case that he ducked the fight.

Yes I am. What he wrote is funny. Contrary to what you think I'm not some Calazaghe superfan who defends everything aspect of his career and I actually enjoy interacting with people who have different opinions.

You on the other hand I just feel sorry for. To have such hang ups about one particular stranger is beyond bizarre and I think you need help. I hope you get it.

Golovkin would take him into deep waters no doubt. He may well make Zaggers another good buoy
