Whats the average age here on this thread out of interest? Because those that say they never knew it was a racist term must be younger than 20. Trust me boys i aint that old. Ok im 29. And iv been called a spear chucker a few times in my life. Those that say it isnt a racist term are either ignorant or stupid.
23 It could be construed as a racist term, but definitely wasn't in this instance. It was just ol' Jimbo trying to be funny, and failing. Big time.
The way the country is going these days actually scares me. Is it any wonder politicians are trying to look as though they are stamping out racism, every year more and more of the nations voters are of an ethnic minority (majority in some towns) and they are looking to please everyone but its a shame that they are damaging society with their methods. The blackboard to chalkboard thing is very real and I remember reading thet workers in the NHS were not going to be allowed to eat lunch in front of muslims during Ramadam in case they offend them. Needless to say Muslims were just as enraged with this rule as everyone else. Why dont we deal with each case of racism on its own merits the way we do with any other crime. What about the Catholic Protestant issues in Scotland. I still hear all sorts of stuff about people getting on better in their jobs if they are in the masons and although catholics can join it is mostly a protestant club lol. The world has always been corrupt and its no different these days imo.
35 Spear chucker is a racist term. It's NOT comparable to 'blackboard - chalkboard' and these pc rules and regulations. Totally different. It is purely, simply and exclusively a racial slur as far as I'm aware, it's never been used as a description of the Javelin event. Except by Jim Rosenthal.
Very good post. If they actually discussed these issues with ethnic groups progress may be made - instead of making themselves look silly.
They could save money by abolishing incapacity benefit for those who have been caught on camera running the London Marathon.
Im 27....... I have never really experienced any racism directed to me personally apart from one time I was in Weymouth but thats a long story
Is 'Spear Chucker' racist? - Yes Is Jim Rosenthal racist? - Nah... Does anyone care, its not like he's Jonathan Ross.
