 Your kidding right? HBO's only PPV fighters are Pacquiao, Mayweather and (arguably) Mosley. The malignaggi fight will be his first on regular HBO.

His only chances of being on PPV in the states any time soon is if he faces Pacquaio, or is on an undercard-and neither of those options will be built around his name.

Well that doesn't determine whether or not he becomes a PPV fighter in all honesty so it's still a ridiculous comment. He was definitely claiming that Khan is above terrestrial tv and Sky

Above terrestrial TV? It doesn't get any higher than getting on terrestrial TV.

What ?? Being on terrestrial TV is a huge accomplishment, considering it means his fights would be shown to the biggest TV Audience he could possibly hope for. AND considering the fact that no terrestrial TV company has a contract for any fight, i'd consider it to be some achievement

They would be getting the same coverage at that time regardless of the particular channel showing it. But being on ITV1 (whilst not being financially beneficial in the short term) will more than likely be better in the long run for him.

He'll never be a PPV hit in the same mould of Hatton so I think he should avoid it until the very big fights materialise. Listen this isn't even staged in an arena :good This is in the theatre underneath the arena which at capacity will hold 8000 people. If he's not gonna sell 10,000 tickets to the event then his PPV output will be nothing to write home about either.

Probably because Paulie isn't considered that 'exciting' of a fighter, home town or not. It's a shame, because he's a great talker, and a solid boxer, just doesn't provide the KO's that the crowds want. The arena would have been filled for the Cotto fight primarily for Cotto. NY has a very large hispanic/Puerto Rican population, and Arum usually has him fighting in NY the same weekend as the 'legendary' Puerto Rican flag parade through the city.

But I doubt Khan could fill the Bolton Wanderes football ground. Bless him, he only sold 5 or 6000 seats for his world title fight with Kotelnik at the MEN. I lost out on £50-odd in a non-refundable hotel room when that was moved from London because ticket sales were so dire.

Yeah exactly mate. Paulie may not be the biggest draw but then again he wasn't against Hatton and neither was Urango or Collazo. Look at what Hatton and Bruno took to the states in terms of a fanbase then you'll get to see what a real 'PPV' fighter is all about.

This is why I believe Khan to have made a mistake by leaving Warren so early into his career. Warren could have made him into a superstar over here yet now he is in the states without ever having captured the imagination of the US public and without a real ardent and unwavering fan base to that of Hattons.

He is simply not a PPV fighter................ YET :good

Warren already had a deal in place for Khan Maidana NEXT and had already spoke Gary Shaw (to which Shaw has already gone on record saying he was suprised about considering Khan is relatively untested at this stage) about the possibilty of Khan/Bradley after one more mandatory.

And as for Hatton, Naseem going over to the states after 30 + fights, they'd already proved themselves on the British, Euro and World stage and had HUGE fanbases built up. Khan hasn't and doesn't
